Looking to add a fun CC ally for my Tau. More of a fun thing then for competition. Something to take on destroyer lords and random cc sillyness.

Try allying in a Nob Biker Squad with Warboss. Nothing is scarier than a shotty Tau army with a Warboss Squad defending it

That was my Tau/Ork list. I only ran it once and it did very well. Granted I'm a Tyranids/Salamanders player most of the time. I just wanted to try a shooty army for a change. However, pure Tau left me wanting more so I tried Orkz as much Hammerhead unit.

This was just one list I ran. I tried another with more Crisis Suits and Farsight I believe. Disregard the Tau list, if you look at the Nob Deathstar, that's how I ran it. It's over 800 points so you can full around with it a little. I went a little upgrade heavy with 9 scorchas. But I simply saved them for overwatch. The T5, 2W each, 4+ Armor, 4++ Cover, 5++ Invuln, and 5++ FNP usually kept them alive from shooting. So tarpiting them was the only response to them. That's where the Scorchas came in if they tried.

Orks synergise well with tau. 10 nob bikers is too much though. See, there's a number of enemies that can wipe them no matter what cause they're not fearless. Also, they're vulnerable to psychic stuff.
6 nobz + painboy + bikerboss is more than enough. Just add some boyz and they're gona be fine.

The funny thing is that it's more effective to run orkses as a main force and tau as allies Mass wagon boyz and biker nobz are really effective when you remove the elements that harm them the most like lances or fast meltas vs wagons and lotsa ignore cover ap4 shots or id weapons vs bikes. And tau provide this quick removal on the first few turns.

Iron Hands Chapter Master with Bike, The Gorgon's Chain, the Axe Medusa, the Tempered Helm (for buffing your Tau's shooting and leadership even more), and a bolt pistol (or whathaveyou).

Mephiston. Footslogging death company, 10 man with bolters and 2 pfs, (since your main force is tau, they will be coming to you). Furioso podded backfield. 675pts.
