So, I made the plunge and ordered an airbrush set up....very excited. I've never airbrushed before so I know it will take some time to get the hang of things and learn to use it. I've been reading up and have found quite a bit that's given me ideas and inspiration so far. I even went so far as to let me wife know ahead of time that once I get the hang of it I will need to invest in a new army!

On to my question, my favorite article thus far has been this one: http://www.dakkadakka.com/wiki/en/Zenithal_Airbrushing%2C_OSL_and_Snow_and_Ice_Tutorial%2C_subject_-_Grey_Knight

I'm not a fan of grey knights however....an army I've wanted to put together since I was 14 and got my first rogue trader book though is....silver skulls. So I'm thinking about applying the same technique to space marines and trying that out as my first official airbrushed army. However I have questions about applying that method to vehicles like rhinos or stormravens. Does anything need to be drastically modified or can it just work out the same?

Nope, don't change anything.

Try using VMA gunmetal grey over black primer, and add a little VMA aluminium to the mix for highlighting. Wash recesses with nuln oil, and edge highlight with aluminium / gunmetal grey mixes up to pure aluminium.
