I'm trying to decide which game to trick my friends into playing next.

I've narrowed it down to these two games. I have some questions about them.

1) Which one is cheaper to get to the standard sized game?

2) Which is cheaper in the long run?

3) Any key differences?

4) Which game is deeper?

Thanks for any answers. I know some of these may be hard to answer (especially #4) but any responses are appreciated. I've watched some demo games of both on youtube, so I'm kinda familiar with how they play, but I'd happy to read any summaries.

I have never played Hell Dorado but I have dabbled in Anima Tactics and followed both games (the sculpts for both are gorgeous).
I think Hell Dorado is a much safer bet right now. Cypher seems to have much more control over the rules released for that game. HD just had an expansion successfully funded on kickstarter where as AT has been waiting quite a long time for the promised book for sagas 3&4.

Anima Tactics is not a bad game but it could use a second edition to clean up all the translation errors and strange character abilities that have built up over the years. I believe it is a slightly lower model count than Hell Dorado and certainly the hellscape terrain rules are absent so you may be able to play with a smaller terrain collection.

As I understand it, Cypher doesn't get much creative freedom from the creators of the Anima RPG. It is a shame really since they have done so much to revitalize Hell Dorado and could likely do the same for AT.

Hmmm, thanks for the input.

I'll focus my research on Hell Dorado then.

Too many new games popping up with nice models and low start up costs!

Hell Dorado, Anima, Malifaux, Deadzone, Infinity... they are all tempting.
