Ok I wanted blob guard and I decided that using azreal and a little bit of a twist.

HQ
Primaris psyker (2 rolls on biomancy hoping for endurance)

TROOPS
Veterans (ride in vendetta and cause a nuisance)
3 meltas

50 man blob
5 power axes and melta bombs for the segeants

FAST ATTACK
Vendetta

ALLIES
Azreal (makes the blob have 4++)

5 sniper scouts (objective camp)

5 sniper scouts (objective camp)

LORD OF WAR
Baneblade super heavy tank

1500pts on the dot

I would add some inquisitors to add even more to the blob guard. For example scout, divination, and the awesome grenades that would make the guard even more annoying.

Are You sure others will play against Baneblade?

blob is for hand-to-hand? Take flamers and krak grenades. And comissar, because Azrael some day will die anyway.

5 snipers is not so shooty. Maybe er I dunno

On the GW site is says escalation is allowed in there tournaments. And I have no idea how I could fit in inquisition into the list as I don't have the codex. But using prescience on the blob does sound like a very good idea

The baneblade is all the AT and AA you will need in 1500pts unless theres some jerk with 9 vendettas, so drop it and take an inquisitor with prescience and psyco,rad,psykout grenades, and then you can pull up your scout squads.

Are the inquisition battle brothers with guard otherwise my prescience inquisitor will be the first to be shot.

I'd get some Commissars into that blob (or an Inquisitor) to make it the combat threat it needs to be. Drop the 2nd scout squad to pay for this.

Why the Baneblade? In the world of Super heavies strength D is king. You need Strength D and that means Shadowsword. It really is the only choice right now.
