Was a great game that worked out just as expected in the end (being dethguard with the mission to hold the trench line, my forces even ended up brutalizing the salamanders attack front only to be butchered by the iron hands reserves, just as the FW massacre book described on page 48)

I never realised the tanks Forgeworld have been releasing (such as the Siceran) came from Epic 40,000 first. They are so very detailed and beautiful.

Heres hoping GW resurrect this game, it's really the the proper scale a 40k apocalypse game should be played.

This is absolutely brilliant, and dare i say I think the HH possibly fits this scale much better than 28mm. Certainly gets across the Massed Scale Epic assaults of Ten's of Thousands of Legionnaires fighting it out.

If only I could get my club to do this, we could do 3 boards together for a 12ft x 6ft Battle board. Then put down some real troop numbers.

I especially love the Rhino's on FOW Small bases! That is inspired!

Thinking about it......I can understand the reticence. This looks to be popular, and this dangerous territory from an IP perspective if someone is producing this stuff for open sale.

For me it's the spacing that is so much more sensible at this scale. Tank groups spread over kilometers as apposed to meters. The apocalypse games I have seen place a ridiculous amount of 28mm scale troops and tanks deployed all bunched up and touching each other. It looks silly and it's hard to detect any level of strategy when doing this.

Often you have a time limit to deployment and you only have enough to dump your units on the table with little thought. Silly silly silly.

Epic is a far more sensible scale!

You know if they did a 30k Epic "Siege of Terra" type game, I think it would sell like hot cakes.

Pity they seem to like random limited edition releases for specialist games. Would love to see a re-release of EPIC.

I feel sad for the loss of Epic, it was THE system as far as I was concerned. If they re-released a starter set & started properly supporting epic scale gaming I'd throw money at it like a high class pole dancer.

Seriously, though, the stuff is really well-painted and I love the trench board. I wish I could have got my hands on some of this stuff before it went OOP. It's so damn expensive on eBay nowadays.
