Strategy for The Relic, Dawn of War

Deployment

Reserves

Both Windrider Squads, Crimson Hunter, Voidraven

Deployed

Walking Wracks in cover and, if necessary, ready to run at Relic as a distraction.

Vehicles set up out of range of enemy guns where possible, Ravagers prioritised to be hidden out of LoS.

Farseer and squad set up to support vehicles with Guide/Prescience.

Wraithknight in cover, in a threatening position to draw fire.

Haemonculus starts with Reavers, then joins Wracks turn 1.

Strategy

Turn 1 to 3

Hold back and pump fire at anything that moves towards the objectives, use planes to deal with other peoples aircraft and/or backfield vehicles. Primary focus of AT is to destroy transports containing troops to allow splinter to eliminate scoring units. Splinter at scoring units is maximum target priority. Movement is used to maximise distance.

Optional use of Reavers to cause opponent to turn around and deal with them.

Windrider squads hide after arrival always move and boost, staying out of LoS if possible.

If wrack venoms are destroyed footslog towards objective.

Turn 4

Move Wrack transports (if alive) to within 12" of Relic

Move Windriders to within 12" of Relic

Continue same targets with everything else

Turn 5+

Use Windriders to claim relic, moving in Movement phase and boosting in Shooting.

Continue shooting with everyone else.
