Very new and on a budget(don't have other model options).. I could use lots of tactical feedback pertaining to how to utilize the wizard and different core units. My other question: can I take a 2nd Great Eagle and it is considered to have both upgrades from the fist Great eagle? Or are those points paid a second time(swift sense/shredding talons)?

Also a new High Elf player here, but I can answer your question. Yes, you have to buy the upgrades for each eagle.

As for your army, the thing that worries me most is what will happen when your opponent closes with you. The seaguard are not going to make a great impact and the swordsman are likely to get picked at from artillery, ranged, and magic attacks because they are an easy target and your biggest melee threat. If you can keep your opponent occupied with reavers and eagles you could probably do some work in the first few turns, but most opponents will probably just march for your lines because they are going to be easy to break.

Also I would consider switching to a frost phoenix and the lore of life for your mage, as long as you keep buffing him the phoenix will be very hard to kill and help tie down your opponents melees.

Also a new HighElves player only advice i can give you is what i have been told on here . Consider Spearmen instead of L. Seaguard i like em too but the cost out weighs it in the end also i have been told upgrades on Eagles is a point waste as they are mainly a chaff unit not my words but i have had success without the upgrades

This list won't benefit very much from lore of life. Elves love lore of shadow, particularly shooting orientated lists like this.

There's a limit to how much input we can have if these are the only models you own. It's a fairly nothing list at this stage. Are these ALL the models you own?

Ok, this list needs a fair bit of work.

Firstly, characters. Your Lvl4 needs the Book of Hoeth, and you may want to consider adding a Ward Save too. Putting your BSB on a Griffon is a bad idea and, in all honestly, including anything on a Griffon isn't great either. You're far better off using the IoB Griffon as a counts-as Eagle, and cobbling together a Noble BSB out of spare bits. The best set up for the Noble is Heavy Armour, Shield of the Merwyrm, Sword of Might and 15pts of other Magic Items to your taste (feel free to save the points though).

Your Core needs sorting too. Those LSG are in far too small numbers to do anything meaningful, so either use them as Archers or drop the Archers in favour of a more sizeable Spearmen box (using the LSH as Spearmen)

I would also drop the Shadow Warriors completely unless you really like the models (and, to be fair, they are pretty cool models) or have serious monetary cost issues. Shadow Warriors are one of the few bad units in the book, being far too expensive for the minimal damage they're able to put out. Sisters of Avelorn are a far better unit, if you haven't built the box yet. Also not sure where you're getting the Bladelord's points value from either. At any rate, run the Swordmasters as a unit of 7, with nothing but a musician.

The Flamespyre Pheonix is ok but it fulfils the same role as pretty much the entirety of the rest of your army: to take out light infantry. This gives you a lot of redundancy in your list, and will mean you struggle against high armour and/or high toughness targets. Again, if you haven't built the kit, a Frostheart is a far better choice. Drop the upgrades on the Eagles too, and run them as two separate units. Eagles are meant to be chaff, and so should be kept cheap.

You should have saved a good few points here, so I'd use that to either get a sizeable unit of White Lions, that'll pack a punch in combat, or some Bolt Throwers to up your shooting prowess. As Alex hinted at, the kind of list you choose will determine what lore is best to use.

Hope this helps, if you have any more questions, feel free to ask!

Tillicoutry, albion apparently

as above, the LSG are far to small. Concerning the archers, probably drop the light armour. Most things hitting you are gonna be S4, negating it anyway, and if they are gonna be S3 its gonna be lots of attacks. And personally, if i ever take only one command choice, a musician is always better in my opinion. The +1 BS on the Hawkeye is hardly going to make a difference.

Perhaps change the LSG to 10 archers + musician and get more swordmasters if you want them

And as already mentioned , those shadow warriors are gonna do stuff all. The eagles should do everything the shadow warriors would do, plus more.

also don't like the griffon noble, but i understand the budget issue, so a IoB based list is pretty fair for cost, though it could be a lot better otherwise if you get more stuff for ot eventually.
