Greetings all. I am throwing together a quick army list for a small escalation tournament with a few friends for an upcoming weekend. I wanted to try something completely different from what I normal play (currently Dark Angels) and decided to dust off some of my old Catachan models from when they had their own codex. I know one player will have Deathwing, one will have Orcs, and the other bounces between Eldar and Necrons. I know that a 1000 point games might be rough, but I thought I would try something new. Here is the list as I currently have it.

Company Command squad with Carapace armor and four flamers with krak grenades.

Three Veteran squads (grenadiers) with three flamers each.

Two HellHounds.

Two Leman Russ Battle Tanks.

I am hoping that the large number of template weapons will help fend off anyone deep striking close to me (especially the deathwing). It wouldn't be IG with out a few leman Russ tanks, and I just like how the Catachan look with scout torsos. I know that forward sentries would probably play better with afew sniper rifles, but my green stuff skill is not up to par. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Your gonna have trouble with terminators. Alot of trouble. Id suggest taking out both battle tanks, adding a Executioner, with the left over points add some plasmas/meltas to your vets. Or add a Chimera to the flamer Vets and take out a Objective.

Good point. I guess that I would only wound 1/2 of the time with the flamers, and those 2+ armor saves would not work to my advantage. I am trying to stay away from APCs purely because I just don't like them. I have attempted to update my list per your advice, but feel I may have gone overboard. Instead of going heavy on flamers, I switched my allegiance to plasma. I am not worried about flyers or fortifications, as this is a friendly group and most of us don't own flyers. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Company command squad with carapace armor, 4 plasma guns and a sergeant with plasma pistol.

Two veteran squads (grenadiers) with three plasma guns.

One veteran squad (grenadiers) with three meltaguns.

Two Hellhounds.

One Leman Russ Executioner.

I run a veteran list sort of similar to this, but minus the hellhounds, I use chimeras instead. The only problem I see you having is having your veterans being gunned down before you even get into melta/plasma range.
Your hellhounds could run good interference though along with the executioner being a big target. I mean the list has everything you really need. Ap1-2 weapons/Flamer/Blast. Try it and see how it turns out.
I see the list being somewhat dangerous depending on how the game spans out:-)

Also a Vendetta with a CCS or Veterans with flamers in is awesome!
Chimeras are also Veterans friends.

Lrbt is no good. Go for some other tank like a demolisher. Eradicator can replace squishy hellhounds if needed. If i were u, i'd also go for min squad of stormtroopers with meltas instead of vets with 2 meltas and plazmapistol for serg. Vets are too easy to take down. And will have problems getting there. While stormtroopers arrive turn 2 on a 2+ if you have astropath - and he's a must if you got vendettas, reroll deepstrike and stop or kaboom a wagon/some other dangerous vehicle.
2 Hellhounds are too much imo. They're either overkill vs sloggas or too bad vs wagonz. And it's plain useless vs eldar.
