I keep reading that his claw has a flamer in it but I can't find it in the rules anywhere.

Is this an old rule? Or am I missing something?

Cheers,
Matt

I remember reading in that novel with the silver skulls that he did have one built in. the calderis rift maybe the book is called? I see in his wargear his claw is the tyrant's claw on the gw site. maybe there's a special rule for it in his codex entry?

It should be noted that those are his old rules.

However in his current rules the Claw still functions as a heavy flamer

Still would hate to get in a CC fight with this guy, that is a HUGE claw. you got his incredible strength and skill to worry about but on top of that he can also shoot fire, no thanks i'll take fighting a mob of greenskins.

It used to be far worse to fight before it got broken, considering it used to slice through Terminator armor.

I just found it. It's so small! "The Tyrant's claw has the profile below. It also incorporates a heavy flamer." Pg 58 if anyone is interested.

The old rules look awesome. T5 would be so nice lol

This is the CSM codex, we don't get to keep nice things.

In all fairness, Huron is probably our best HQ choice for the points he is worth.

To be honest, i dont ie the looks of the l being built ino the claw. I remember seing conversions i liked better that had an actual flamer on the model somehow.. Course, thats just my visual preference.

He's saying he doesn't like how the flamer spews through the palm and would rather see a converted model that has the flamer elsewhere.

Yep, I use the Forgeworld model for my Huron. But that's also because I use a mix of Chaos and regular Space Marine models for the army, so I can play it as either Chaos Marines, Astral Claws, or Tyrant's Legion, depending on my mood.
And I do feel Huron is one of the best Chaos HQs for his points. And that random psychic power he gets every turn can be fun. First time I used him, he got that one Biomancy power that gives you extra attacks on the turn he charged a squad of loyalist marines. By himself, he killed five of them.

I think its so stupid that his stats for the Astral Claws are SO much better than the ones in the Chaos codex. He is a beast in the SM veriant, - 2+ armour save / if he dies he comes back on a roll of 2+ with one extra wound, had AP2 attacks and any successfully saved wounds must be re-rolled. And what does he have now? Coule POSSIBLY give 3 units infiltrate...great.

..Because he got crushed and his body is literally 2/3rds bionics. His old armor got shattered, his claw had to be repaired, and generally yeah.

The reason why he's far more badass back then is because he literally WAS better, then he got broken.

Sure it's another kick in the teeth to CSM, but at least remember the fluff behind it.

He's also far cheaper in CSM.

Not to mention that Forge World units are often more powerful than anything in a regular 40k codex anyways.

To be honest, this isn't quite true. Trust me, you'd be surprised on how underwhelming and/or overpriced many Forge World units are

Poor Huron got himself blasted to bits and barely hangs on. Someday buddy.... someday maybe you shall gain grand bionics that make you even more terrifying
