Bloodletters are very expensive compared to core options in other books.
that being said, they can go toe to toe with nearly any unit. The question is: do you guys horde them up for that extra attack, or keep them in deep ranks?
Let me know!

I still think 6*5 is the way to go if you do use them.
It gives you ranks, and combat ability.

I don't see them horded because you're not going to hit much (too big for targets) and they're harder to move around. If you got to grind through fodder, sure.

Hordes are hard to maneuver.
6x5 sounds perfect for formations.
My main opponent is orcs and goblins though... that's why I questioned about horde formation.... but I forgot how small goblin frontages are. Its like a bloodletter and a half for 3 gobbos.
So in 6x5 I can almost be in contact with 12 of the things.
Plus rank bonuses, fear...
Thanks guys

'Go 40 or go home' is the best bet if you have to use 'Letters...
You don't have to horde them, but you really need a crapload of them because they can't grind worth a damn. T3/5++ and only a single S4 attack per model is pretty average on the whole. And you don't even have the utility that the other S4 elites do since you can't use the likes of the E.Flame Banner or Razor Standard, while Killing Blow is over-rated.
Add to this that you really want them to have a Herald to help buff them through Hatred (best option) or Frenzy (hope you can cope), who himself is a fairly flimsy yet heinously expensive platform...
Honestly Bloodletters are best used as the freebie unit when you occasionally roll that 12 on the RoC table.
About the only thing they do slightly better than any of the other Core options is shrug off Magic Missles/Direct Damage spells due to their inherent MR1.
