I'm getting a tenor sax, but I'm wondering if it's good and at a reasonable price. It's the Yanagisawa T9937 Tenor Sax, people say it's over priced but I can get it 20% cheaper, and it's new. People say it's good, but is it a beast because that's what I'm wondering.

Are you a professional player looking for a good model or just want something to play with?

This is a high quality professional model not just for jamming around or playing in a little bad. This model seems VERY overpriced for what it is. You could most likely get a pro-grade sax for about 3-5 grand and be just as good as this 9 grand model. I would say shop around and see if you can play test some models and find one that feels right for you and plays well.

As a player that is the best advice I can give without more info. Hope it helps

Well I want this sax to be the last sax I buy, because I want it to last for the rest of my life. I'm slowly going up the ladder in the music career, I'm just going into 6th form and take music very seriously and want to music at university. I'm grade 7 jazz tenor sax so I want a very good sax, price isn't on the top of my list.

I would still say try bunch out before you buy anything. I think that you are a bit young to be spending 10 grand on a sax. Shop around and don't rush into anything. If you are really serious I would actually wait until you are at university before getting a high grade model and going forward.
