I'd like to try a serpent spam type list at 1500 points, but I'm not sure if it'll work? The reason I am using avengers is their superior range over guardians, along with slightly better survivability. The list is relatively self explanatory, the avengers will sit back on objectives and do a shed load of shooting at anything within range. The farseer will sit in with the shimmer shield squad. and the serpents will do all the work along with the knight and the scythes.
here it is, let me know what you think, I've never run this kind of list before....
1500 Pts - Codex: Eldar Supplement - Iyanden Roster
Yes it can. Why the Dire Avengers? Drop them down to min 5 man squads that nets you 225 points. Farseer can't do much in a Serpent so drop him down to a Spiritseer that way your Wraiths become troops. And that's another 35 points. You now have enough points for a 5th Serpent and Holofields on all but 1

Holofields are a must.
If you want to run serpent spam, run minimum priced troops squads. You have the best unit in the game for this - 5 dire avengers can take a serpent at 65 points. They don't need more bodies and they don't need upgrades. If you argue otherwise, you're not trying to run *serpent spam*

Is this a rule that the Iyanden Codex Allows? If that's the case, I apologise.
Here's a 1500 pt list for you
Autarch (60, right?)
6x 5 DA (65, right?) 6x Wave serpents with Shuriken Cannons, Multi-lasers, Holofields. (135, right?)
Wraithknight (since he's a warlord)
That works out to exactly 1500.
You can't spam many more if you want that wraithknight, but you have an awesome amount of hard armour, and you have a reliable amount of shooting. if you need it, you can bring 54 S6 shots and about 27 S7 shots to bear per turn that all 6 wave serpents are alive.
Bare in mind, I don't own the Eldar Codex, but I've played this list so many times that I know the exact cues to swear at.

Well, it can work pretty well. However, I'd drop the Wraithguard and Wraithknight. Recently, I battled Tau with 5 Serpents (2x DA, 1x Guardians, 2x FD), Jetseer, and 3 Warwalkers at the 1500 pt level and almost tabled it.

The spiritseer will be a wave serpent yes? If so drop the wraithforge stone because I don't think you can use it while in a transport plus its got a 6" range and if your doing your WK correctly he won't be within 6" nor will he need the extra wound.
Also holofields are not a must really, sure a 4+ jink is cool but if you have a lot of tau in your meta (like I do) the holo fields are wasted, so it depends on how much tau there will be.
Ps.@scipio Africanus its not a multi laser (IG) its a scatter laser (Eldar).

I got the point across, right?
OP, you aren't running spam. you should change the title to not-serpent-spam.
I'm a little dissapointed.

On a serious note, I thought 5 serpents at 1500 was pretty spammy? Am I missing something? I get that without the knight or the wraithguard I could probably get 2 more in.....but I already own the knight and the guard! Haha.
You sought to cower behind your walls, weakling? Instead, by the will of Khorne, you shall die behind them
First things first, the list is solid, very durable and mobile and I especially like those Scytheguard and the WK(in contrast to Wuestenfux, who always gives good advice, but seems to dislike anything Wraith with a passion, haha!).
You definitely can use the Wraithforge Stone from within the Serpent and it also spreads your range quite a bit, considering the hull of the Serpent is 7" across and you can use the Stone at any point within the movement phase, so you actually have a huge range to work with(12" move of the Knight + 12" move of the Serpent + 6" of the Stone + 7" Serpent's Hull).
I'd do two changes to your latest list, otherwise it looks ace. One is to drop that PW + Shimmershield combo. It really isn't worth it if they're in a Serpent and only 5 guys benefit from it. Use those points to buy your Scytheguard Serpent Holofields, cause that one will be a target number 1 for most opponents. You could also give it Vectored Engines instead of the GWM. That gives you a LOT of range to your Scytheguard(again, the entire hull of the Serpent, which is 7"), plus you have the Primaris from the Iyanden Spiritseer which gives them Battle-Focus. That's 6" vehicle move, + 7" Vectored engines pivot, +6" disembark, +d6 Run + Template range. That range for AP2 templates is just amazing.

Very true. Overpriced models pointwise. Considering Wraithguard, Fire Dragons can also get the job done. Use target saturation to keep them alive.

Don't you think WG are best taken full hat? It just seems wasteful if you're not going for a wraith army theme.

Oh, no It's not that it isn't spammy.
It's just so easy to be even more spammy! why settle for sorta spammy when you can be really spammy?
Also, I've never been happy. My sons (who, for the grace of god I hope) don't exist as of yet, will never please me.
