Well I had a thread going and was trying to go along the lines of having a more fun and non pro list, but seems I have kinda rode the line with that. On the last thread was shown that I could ally with Farsight and make them scoring...which goes perfect with the list due to me wanting to make a more Mech/Gundam/Suit list. So let me know what you think and if you see anything I missed. Im not a pro player at all so it took me a while to read through each special rule, Google info and trying to find a synergy that would be fun but at same time not waste my time. So I tried to think of AA, scoring needs, while trying to stick to my idea of a gundam type army. Thanks in advance!

Hey, good job updating the list. There are honestly only 3 things that jump out at me as... Odd. I think that one if your Riptides needs to take a Heavy Burst Cannon, and I would switch out the Fire Warriors for a couple of Kroot Carnivore squads all with one hound. They will come in on a table edge, hopefully with an objective, and if you don't like your first table edge roll, the hound will let you re-roll it. I would also advise you to take a Fusion Blaster on your crisis suits that will DS with Farsight instead of the TL plasma. 3 of them should have target lock so they can split fire too. Te Buffmander should go with Farsight and Bros. making it a very powerful Death Star.

The last thing, what's a Marko? I'm just unfarmilliar with the term. Tell us how your games go with the list too.

Hey glad to see you in my threads again!

Well I like the idea of the burst cannon, it would be nice not to always be rolling to scatter lol, so will try that hopefully tommorow in a game I have lined up as a rematch with an Eldar player. I have heard of the kroot thing and some people put a beacon on the tide with burst cannon and rush him down the side of the board that you want the kroot on so they auto pick that side, it'll even out since I dont have to take the hound. I thought about the Death Star but wasnt sure on if it was worth it putting Farsight, My Warlord, and 3 crisis suits all in one unit due to that's alot of Victory Points in handing away if things go wrong or if im left alone, even though with Target lock I do see how I could possibly get to pop up to 3 vehicles in 1 deep strike, but after that Im kinda F'd I would think, specially if i did that to the Eldar player, since his Waveserpents are carrying Wraith Guard which can 10 1 my ass lol.

I do have an update on the list I had originally posted, I played the Eldar player and he quit start of turn 3, all he had left was 3 man bike squad, Wraith Knight, 2 squads of 3 Wraith Guard and 1 Wraith lord left, while I still had way over half my army, only losing a few Fire Warriors, and 2 Marker Drones. Night Fighting hurts Eldar I see...but so works for me

*EDIT* Oh forgot to answer your question, MARKO i found out is the name they give a Commander with just Drone Controller then you place him inside the unit of Marker Drones Squadron with him buying 2 himself (they are 12 pts a piece where as the squad is 14 pts a piece)

Happy to be back!

Glad it went well and you had success in your game. Thanks for the explanation too. Now I play a full Farsight Bomb most of the time, and I understand your worry about it being risky. What I always remember to do with that in mind is to play it smart. Although it is not great by any means for Tau to get into close combat, Farsight is a beast. I was able to make a sweeping advance and take out a whole squad of Fire Warriors! I think that the list looks much improved from what you had started with. I don't mean this to be disrespectful like the other guy, but I just think its good to see improvement on the tabletop. The key to Farsight's squad is play it smart, and try to JSJ into cover as much as you can. If you take 2x gun drones each on the Crisis Suits in that squad too, they can be "bubble wrap" and let the unit survive for usually another turn. If you would rather attach the Buffmander to a Riptide (which is also a very good choice) you could keep the allied Farsight Enclaves and take the commander from Farsight's Command team that has the Fusion Blades. It is just more melta power, and it would then separate your Warlord from the unit too. I would actually suggest making Farsight your warlord so you don't scatter when DSing. If you don't have the points for it or don't want to you don't need to utilize any of these suggestions. Glad its worked out for the better, and feel free to ask if you have any questions or just want to talk tactics for the army.

So what do you suggest now that you know what each commander I chose does? I tried it last game (played another one) but he called it turn 2 bc I deep stoke both units of suits and plasma rifled his bike squads. So Im liking my list, I plan on playing another game tommorow or Thursday if possible, would tonight but Im casting alot of GK Paladins for a upcoming Apoc game with the guys...saves tons of money btw casting...bought kit for 70 and have casted over 150 dollars worth of Pallies alone...let alone GW building wall sections lol. Neways, will try the burst-tide which looked TOTALLY fun. It'll also help my Apoc game bc im taking my Tau as well as my GK and it's against a 2 man Ork team lol.

I think that if what you have been doing is obviously working, then keep it! I do have one question. What skill level are the people you are playing? From what it sounds like, I could probably table them turn 2 (I would need reserves to come in) with just average rolls. Are they new to the game, not new but dont play super competitively, or veterans that do play competitively but have had REALLY bad rolls? Yes the Bursttide is fun, but not as fun as mopping up some of your opponents troop units with the IA AP 2 blast!

The Paladins sound cool, but I'm not sure if they will have much synergy with Tau. If you have a large enough Tau collection, you should be able to annihilate the Orks. Just stay in range of your guns, but make sure to take up a defensive position and let them come to you. The Paladins are also good anyways. Tell me how your matches go, both Apoc and not. Again, if you have any questions or want more suggestions, feel free to ask.

Great idea for a fun list because it can very easily be adapted to one of the most powerful builds with just a few changes

Could you post the list that you will be running in the Apoc game? I have played some GKs so I might be able to help some if you need it. Also, can you do batreps or mini descriptions of how the Tau (normal, not Apoc) army preformed. It would just be cool to hear how powerful this list is.

Sure, i'll post some batreps tommorow as with pics. The list however of the fun list is obviously what I posted and the Apoc game as of now is going to stay the same other than adding more crisis suits bc I love em...but would deffinetly give the new suits flamers bc im going to be going against orcs and lots of Eldar (unless me and Eldar team up which is what I think is going to happen)
