so im Really liking the potential to get the Deathleaper without taking one of my HQ slots, he will seriously screw with Psyckers with his -d3 Ld.
The Assassin formation gives you 6 lictors roaming the battlefield individually (Deathleaper included) who all have Prefered enemy-Characters and an aura of despair (-1 Ld /12"range).
Bonuses are free aside from the restriction of needing to take 5 Lictors and Deathleaper, the total bill is 380pts.
So when we add Shadow in the Warp to the Deathleapers scare tactic and the assassin formations aura of despair you have some serious Ld dampening across an army, and we have 2 of our psychic spells that works against Ld, also lots of pinning weapons and fear causing units.
Tau Have next to no Fearless possibilities so I'm looking forward to scaring and pinning the hell out of their suits. heheheheh

im not sure of how I want to build it but I want 4-5 FMC, at least 2 Mawloc and maybe some Genestealers with Broodlord
im going for really competitive.

230 1x Flyrant / 2x TL Devourer BLW
230 1x Flyrant / 2x TL Devourer BLW

140 1x Harpy / TL H-Venom Cannon
140 1x Harpy / TL H-Venom Cannon

130 5x Genestealers / 1x Broodlord
130 5x Genestealers / 1x Broodlord
105 3x Warriors / Barbed Strangler / 1x Rending Claw
100 3x Warriors / Barbed Strangler

45 1x Venomthrope
45 1x Venomthrope
45 1x Venomthrope

140 1x Mawloc
140 1x Mawloc

130 1x Deathleaper (assassin formation)
50 1x Lictor
50 1x Lictor
50 1x Lictor
50 1x Lictor
50 1x Lictor

2000pts

Harpys are there to pop tanks at a distance and just be a FMC to deal with.
Mawlocs will have lots of opportunity to be scatterless while Deepstriking due to the board presence the Lictors have with the assassin formation.

so many single man units!!! 15 to be exact, then we have the 2 teams of Warriors and Genestealers so thats 19 teams.
Warriors are just there since I hope that the opponent will waste his shots against them instead of against my Lictors, Venomthropes or FMC thinking to deny me my scoring units.

what do you guys think?
How can I benefit from my leadership Dampening abilities more efficiently?

venomthropes allow Lictors to have stealth and shrouding

I really like this list.
I would try to squeeze in a com. relay (ADL or bastion) and play it like this:

Turn 1. Mawlocs start on board. Lictors reserve. Reserve anything else that can. (50%). Don't rush to the opponent, hide or castle with the venoms and the ADL\bastion.

Turn 2. With the com.relay you have ~90% of the reserve. Lictors appear all over the opponent army. Mawlocs burrow. Everything else rush and shoot (maybe give strangler to the harpies for pinning goodness) Make sure lictor are not in synapse for gtg.

Now your pal has a real target saturation issue. He knows the Mawlocs come next turn ( with good placement the lictors can even stuck his movement) and he has 4 FMC coming maybe some under venomthrope cover.
This will work only if your units can cover the distance in a turn and half, ie. FMC, shrike, gargoyle, ravener, hormagaunts...
Nice.

It looks like a good idea, I do REALLY want the formation to work. In this list I am not sure o the role of the Warriors, Fire Magnets is a terrible role to give to expensive models. Nothing in your army REALLY needs Synapse. Similarly you don't really need that many Venomthropes, 2 at most. They will only be of much real use on turn 1 where they grant shrouded to the Flyrants and Mawlocks, because when the flyrants fly off and the Mawlock burrows then what is there purpose? Genestealers are infiltrating so won't be in range and as I said warriors don't really fit. While I don't know the exact points, using my best estimates I would suggest dropping one Venomthrope and the Warriors in exchange for a Zoanthrope (For backfield Synapse) and 2 units of 10 termagants. These will benefit better then warriors from the cover saves point for point and neither will accomplish anything much. With the points you have left over (I think) see if you can fit in a biovore, even a single one can really help!

I run a list like that. Love DL as well.

The only thing I see is that you have venomthropes there to basicly give cover save to your warriors. One brood of warriors is fine for backfield objective holders, but with the rest of your list being in the face from turn 1 I don't see what the second unit of warriors are adding and by extension the venomthropes.

Maybe swap them out for more stealers or some biovores or something else?

I really tried to get the formation to work well. It was okay. But not as good as I wanted. The best part of it was the DL. He is amazingly hard to take down. I would use a DL without hesitaion in a list but I'm not sure I want that many Lictors as a tax.

Harpies and Flyrants are both quite fragile. I used a Flyrant and a Crone and Genestealers in my list too. It was not bad but it just seemed to lack something. On paper the list above looks good. On the table ... I think TauDAr and Necrons will love playing against this.

If I had the models, I'd try the same, but I'd go for more of an overwhelm my opponent with hormagaunts and gargoyles, tie them down while my Lictors get into perfect postion, and then the Mawlocs can Terror From the Deep into the locked assaults and hit the bunched up enemy exactly where it'd hurt.

Some constructive criticism of your list...you have A LOT of synapse for an army that doesn't really need much. Also, 3 venomthropes is probably overkill when much of your list will be infiltrating away from where the venomthropes will likely be deployed.

I actually like the fact that people are saying that 3 venomthropes are overkill since it means that they are really present.
remember that the venomthropes can and will run every turn so they should get close enough to the enemy that they could actually help the flanking genestealers which dont need to be too far in the back.
I find that for a 135pts investment having 3 units my opponent will need to divert fire to is so worthwhile.
The synapse is from the warriors and I want it so I can GTG and then get back up on next turn instead of waiting for a turn, plus they have barbed stranglers (36" pinning + lictors aura of despair and SitW = fun)
plus I wanted more troops and I dont know if I would want more genestealers.

although some Zoan could be good, potentially removing one team of warriors and a venomthropes to get 3 Zoan....not bad...hum
