Ok so I've got my space tau army and I'm very happy with the build but if you have any suggestions please share them. As for the chapter tactic I was thinking either iron hands or imperial fists. I'm leaning towards the latter because of all the heavy bolters.

Space marine primary

HQ
Librarian
Lvl2, divination. (Twin links the battle suits and whatever other goodie he gets is a bonus)

TROOPS
5 man tactical
Rhino, heavy bolter

5 man tactical
Rhino, heavy Bolter

5 man tactical
Razorback

HEAVY SUPPORT
Thunderfire

Thunderfire

3 centurions
3 grab cannons and grab amps

Farsight allies

HQ
Commander
Command and control, puretide chip

ELITES
Riptide
Ion, EWO

TROOPS
3 man crisis team
6 missile pods, 2 target locks, 1 drone controller, 6 marker drones.

FORTIFICATION
ADL

Basic strategy is the commander joins the centurions giving them twin linked and ignores cover. The thunderfires do what they do and take out enemy troops. 2 battle suits twin linked by the librarian fire at one target whilst the other helps the marker drones mark a target for the riptide. There is a lot of synergy in the list making sure units work together.

Marine libbies don't get access to divination and Farsight Commanders can't take Empire Signature Systems.

If you're running these 2 armies I'd suggest Red Scorpions for a Gravesastar. Put O'Vesa in a grav centurion squad with Farsight and Sevrin Cloth and bounce around the field killing stuff using the omniscope to enable O'Vesa to split fire from the Cents and with 2 drones you're majority T6 still.

Take the Magic: The Gathering 'What Color Are You?' Quiz.

Yes my Colour is Black but not for the reasons stated mainly just because it's slimming... http://imperiusdominatus.blogspot.com
