Perfect Shot Black Templar Predator Pilot

I stopped playing a few years ago on account of having nobody to play and having no money to advance my small force. Now that I have the latter, and the prospect of the former being is place is also higher, I was wondering where I ought to go. I collected Orcs and Goblins, and possess all the gobbo models from Skull Pass, as well as a Spear Chukka, a handful of Black Orcs, Skarsnik and a couple of Goblin chiefs. Considering that I already collect 40k Orks, I decided that with the exception of Black Orcs, my army would be entirely gobbos. My questions then are:

-How can I best expand my army, such that I have a chance at winning but also have a fun list, considering that I mean to go all gobbos (except for Black Orcs)?
-What's changed in Fantasy since I was last playing?
-Are there any considerations that I should take into account before deciding whether to return or not?

go for! it ive recently just started orcs and gobbos
youve got a good theme. i would suggest some fanatics for the night gobbo units. and buff up the black orcs to 20-30 strong. when did you last play fantasy? because now we are in 8th ed there have been a few changes. for example horde (units 10 wide by at least 3 deep) are now sriously good. you fight in two ranks as standard spears let you fight in an additional rank and then horded lets you fight in another rank. also it gives you steadfast and some other nice buffs. but thats like only scratchin the suface. hope this has helped

Night Gobbos are your friend if you want a Gobbo Army. The best part is you can still find loads of them on E-bay for cheap!!

Black Orcs need to be a solid block if you want them to be the elite backbone of your army.

I would also recommend Trolls they are a great MI choice which makes them useful in the current edition. Just stick a Black Orc boss in with them and stupidity isn't an issue.

Having an all Goblin force is pretty fun, and allowing yourself to include Black Orcs addresses the main problem of the army, which is low leadership. Have a Black Orc Warboss join a unit of B. Orcs with the Banner of Discipline and, with a BSB thrown in somewhere, you should have all the Leadership you need.

You'll need plenty of Gobbos, a large unit of 50-60 NGs with HW + Shield, Netters and 3 Fanatics should form the backbone of your list, and adding in units of bowmen isn't a bad idea either. A large unit of 40 or so with a Spider Banner BSB is a popular tactic. The Spider Riders should add to your Core nicely and provide good chaff.

Nowadays in fantasy, Magic and Infantry are the star players, so you'll want that Black Orc unit to be at least 30 strong, and you'll want to include a Lvl4. Orc Magic is nice, if you'll stretch to an Orc Shaman, but if not, don't worry. Little Waaagh! works nicely too, especially with several Lvl1 NG Shamans for Sneaky Stealing and Mushroom shenanigans.

Also, the star units of the NG Book are the War Machines, and Mangler Squigs too, to a lesser extent, so including two units each of those three would be a strong move. Aside from that, pretty much add what you see fit. Squig Hoppers/Herders are fun, if you can find the models for fairly cheap, and so are Pump Wagons (and you can convert those easily enough too). Trolls and a Giant or Arachnarok (you'll need to prioritise your Rare choices, you won't fit all this in) add a nice bit of variety but still don't draw the focus from what is an almost-all goblin army.

Any more questions, just ask!

I have no idea how it plays, but if I made a goblin army, I'd make sure to use the utterly fantastic forgeworld Squig Gobba, just for the model.
