I don't really share a lot of what I do online but. This is my biker army and display board, let me know what you think.

I like your color scheme, nice and simple, yet still evocative. My only real issue is the shoulder pads. I think they'd look better with SOMETHING on them.

I agree completely, I've been trying to come up with something. They were made as a faux alpha legion at first but I decided I don't want to fully go that route. Then I found dark hunters in the space marine book which is also a similar color scheme, but I don't like their chapter symbol which is a double blades axe.

Any ideas of something cool I can free hand on the pads? ;p. because I'm beyond open to something since I've been drawing nothing but blanks on ideas haha. Since their a white scars successor and their based on Mongolians I call them the "city scars"(exalt if you get the reference;p). So I was thinking of a lightning bolt for the pads because it's known as the "skies scar"

You've got a pretty good thing going here, but the paint work needs to be tightened up a bit. I see a lot of overlap on the green details, specifically around the rims of the shoulder pads. Then there are some personal pet peeves of mine, like the headlights being unpainted and the bolters not being drilled out or at least getting a black dot in the center of the barrel. There are loads of little details that you've left plain black, and it's really detracting from your work. I think that this is a good color scheme and a good looking army on the tabletop, but you can improve it so much from here with minimal effort. Last thing I would suggest for now is to buy a pot of Mithril Silver or other bright silver paint, the crazy bright one that's just way too shiny, and use that to put a few spot highlights on your metallics because right now they look a bit flat and lifeless. Unkind words, I know, but you've stopped a few steps early on this project and it's clear you're capable of greatness!

That is a lot of DV bikers! I like the use of the HH weapons too (I assume as grav guns?).

You've definately got yourself a nice enough tourney army there

I chuckled when I saw that you'd actually written 'Khan' on your counts-as

Finally, and it's not that much of a problem, but the bikes just seem to have been thrown onto the display board. No real sense of direction or flow. There are 2 guys in the front of the display that are basically facing away from each other and into the flow the of guys behind them It makes it look a little mish-mash, if you get my meaning(?)

@exploited wish I knew what you posted, guess it was mean?

@bossfearless those aren't unkind words man, that is great constructive criticism and exactly what I was looking for! Thank you and I'll definately look into drilling out gun barrels and doing the headlights. The metals have much more depth in person so I'm not super concerned about them but thanks I'll look into mightily silvering them for sure!

@brotherpayne yep I have 36 DV bikes in total a lot of them converted up. Yes they're the FW volkite counts as grav. Because 15$ a grav gun is insane.

@zambo I totally get it! And thanks for the comments. It's definately something I'll take into account when the army is out for judging thanks!

Glad you enjoyed the khan it's supposed to make people chuckle jus like you did! the khan was originally going to have 3-4 A's so it'd be more like KHAAAN but it didn't fit once I started doing it.

Thanks for the comments guys

It's not so much that they lack depth, but a few bright spots on the topmost highlight with super bright silver has a way of making your metals POP in a big way. My formula for a great gunmetal effect is Black undercoat-->Chainmail-->heavy black wash-->Mithril Silver highlight. The result winds up looking gorgeous.

I like the uniformity and the color scheme. It makes me want to know more about the chapter, it's background and history, etc...

My only things to critique are mainly due to my personal preference; the "Khan" written on the front fender detracts from the model, I would of splashed more red on the techmarines to contrast the grey/green of everything else, mold lines on front fenders that are nearly impossible to get rid of so I can't blame you there, and some other small things...

Overall I think it looks great though!

Haha warsmith yah thankfully I started painting them 5 months ago before Seattle crushed everyone beneath them!

Come to think of it, I am undefeated against my friends tau which are orange with blue faces lol.
