This is revised from my last post as I stupidly put the points values of the upgrades on the last one ( I'm new to this). Anyway just want some opinions with this list as I want to play competitively.

Welcome to the brotherhood!

Is your list competitive? Not in 6th. Your model count is too low. For all of the tricks that Coteaz brings to the table he is by far your top HQ pick even if you don't bring henchmen (which you should). A grand master ranks right behind him. Then probably the librarian.

At 1500 I'd look at something like:

Coteaz 100 (in adl)


5x WA, bolter, Razorback, psybolt 75
5x WA, bolter, Razorback, psybolt 75
8 psykers, 1WA (stock) 84
10x SS, 2 psycannon, psybolt, halberd on justicar, 1 hammer, rhino 295
10x SS, 2 psycannon, psybolt (in adl) 240

Dreadknight, teleporter, great sword, hvy incinerator 260

Adl, quad gun 100

Brings you to 1500.


Psykers start behind the adl. After the rhino drops its SS off mid board it can come back and give the psykers a ride thereby making you s10ap1 pie plate mobile.

In total this list has 40 models, 3 vehicles plus hvy support compared to your 16 models plus heavies. But, my dreadknight can actually get into cc where he wants to be with the pt, and my adl does more than look pretty.

Ok looks like i'll probably need a mix of Henchmen and SS. But being that I already bought 2 groups of termies and the dreadknight maybe something like this would possibly work?

Run 10 guys in one of the Terminator Squads with 2 psycannons and psybolt ammo and get rid of the other 5. (One 10 man squad one 5 man squad)

They are combat squads so you can split them into groups of 5 and it will save you 20 points on buying psybolt ammunition for two squads but you will still have 3 scoring units.

10 Termies w/ 2 PC, and PsyAmmo = 470 (475 with master crafted weapon)

Plus you can split them however you want with two special weapons in one squad and 0 in the other.

Just as a note, this list isn't competitive but I am sure it's fun. Unfortunately to be "competitive" you would need to run Coteaz with Henchman squads or Monkey Trucks. If you are looking to bring this list to a tournament it probably won't do well. But for a friendly game I am sure its fine. I would recommend trying to squeeze a LRC into the list. GKs have hands down the best LRC in the game with Psychic Pilot and Psybolt Ammo so you should use that.

If I were you I would stick to the termies have one squad of ten as already stated and then one squad of five with inquisitor with div in a land raider cruesader, the 10 squad of termies deep strike. I think that ll be good that's just under 1000points then add some dreadnoughts and a dreadknight and that's a punchy list, I would put a teleported and incinerator on the dreadknight and I'd take two

In fact I d change the 5 man terminator squad to paladins, with a incenerator pay bolts one hammer four halberds, an psi bolts, with a div inquisitor with rad grenades, then that's a cheap ish Death Star. A cool one

Personally I like to run an inquisitor (usally Coteaz or an Ordo Malleus w/psycannon + lvl 1 psyker) in each SS / terminator squad for divination - even better with Purifiers (20 twin linked str 7 rending shots.... ouch).

I've found terminators just won't put out enough firepower for their points... Stick an ordo Malleus with them and you'll get 3 twin-linked psycannons... so not too bad.

Psykers usually do a LOT of damage for their points, take 4 WA with them for ablative wounds and they'll punch holes in most units. When opponents find out what they can do - they usually draw all the firepower for a turn (and at ~ 60 - 80 points a unit it's not devastating).

Well if you cant even create your own competitive list without asking for help and changing your own list as soon as someone suggests something else then there is no hope in you winning anything as your tactics in the game will most likely be very poor. Just pick a list that you like and play it, winning is not that important but having fun is.
