The List:
250 Tyrant w/ Wings and 2 TL Devourers, Hive Commander
230 Tyrant w/ Wings and 2 TL Devourers
45 Venomthrope
50 Zoanthrope
235 Tervigon w/ Regeneration, Electroshock Grubs
120 (30) Gaunts
120 (30) Gaunts
155 Crone
155 Crone
140 Mawloc
The Plan: The venomthrope and Zoanthrope hide out of sight to provide synapse and Shrouding to the gsunt squads whilst they are lurking on objectives.
The tyrants, Crones and Mawloc take the fight to the enemy and the Tervigon outflanks to hit the enemy from behind with his haywire template, str 5 assault 4 weapon and free gaunts (when the enemy kills enough). Tervigon should be kept at arms length (12.1 inches) from the big gaunt squads at all times. Automatically Appended Next Post: Note: kill anything capable of moving to a position where they can draw line of sight to the Zoanthrope first.

You know for 1500 pts. I like it. I like it based on your strategy. I just worry about synape, but it both your flyrants take the primaris power it will help out with your lack of synapse. The only tweek to get more synapse would be to tone down a guant squad and get a warrior squad for more synapse as I think the Zoey will die quickly. I do like the list though don't get me wrong..

Not bad, you'll have fun with your mawloc. He's great for disruption for his points. 4 FMCs is no joke. I do think that exchanging one gaunt squad for warriors w/ a barbedstrangler +20 pts to play with could be a good idea. You'll just have to play test to find out.

I'd rather get more Zoeys on the board than take a squad of Warriors. The extra psychic powers can be very useful(even it is only 1 per squad, not 1 per Zoey). 4 Krak missles are far too easy to come by to run Warriors. If only Warriors were toughness 5! They would see the board like they were intended to.
I tend to load up on troops and even 3 feels a bit "lean" to me, though I know that the Tervigon should be able to produce at least one squad to go objective hunting.
Automatically Appended Next Post: The guant squad should be unafraid of enemy shooting as long as they don't Ignore Cover within 6" of the Venomthrope and the Zoey.
The sheer number of bodies and the preponderance of terrain in my local meta should work well as Tyranids can.
