About Warp Spiders. Not sure what you can do in Hammer and Anvil Deployment against an army like this. Probably just keep them behind and wait for his scoring to come out to contest, then hit them. Don't forget they can charge in too and that they have H&R base. Also that 2d + 6" and
2d6" charge(with Fleet) is a pretty long range.
Thanks! Yeah, the Beasts always surprise me how resilient they are! In the past my "Stars" have generally held far fewer models, and always far fewer wounds (my WolfStar had 6 models with a total of 14 wounds spread around, for 200 points more than my BeastStar, haha!), so I generally expect the Beasts to just fold immediately. While I generally expect an opponent to at least kill *most* of my BeastStar, I've been very impressed with how resilient it is, even breaking my own expectations!
You're right about the assault thing with Warp Spiders - I was actually planning on assaulting with them in my 2nd turn if my opponent decided to let one of them live, as they could at least eat some overwatch that the Beasts would have had to take instead. Don had the choice with his last shots - he could either hurt a couple more Beasts or finish off my final Warp Spider model. He chose wisely (
IMO) to finish off the lone Warp Spider, as it was important both for the mission and the charging implications next turn!
