Not sure how I will use Tristan Durant, but I've always been
a fan of Vindictus's humpty dumpty armor. He has an odd
mix of abilities with Fortify for buffing 'jack armor, a blessed
melee weapon and True Sight for when he casts Immolation.

Too bad Immolation is single target.

Not sure what's going to be good. With 4 focus he can Fortify
something like a Reckoner and still load it with full focus.
Fortify also gives Menoth an anti-knockdown option for your
'caster for when you have the book in another list.

Any thoughts?

I'm happy with all of them bar the Cryx Journeyman. Just don't like the sculpt. But that's alright, I love the other 7!

I wish I had time for all the game systems I own, let alone want to own...

Te cryx is my second fave sculpt after the menoth one.

I don't particularly think any of them lend alot to their faction, but my god the sturgii... He will 100% be challenging the Caines to be my second caster

Cygnar (133) | 82% painted - Menoth (65) | 92% painted
Mercenaries (52) | 53% painted - Circle Orboros (42) | 92% painted - Minions (20) | 0% painted

Systems I play : Warmachine, Hordes, Star Wars X-Wing, Star Trek Attack Wing, Malifaux & Bolt Action.

Sturgis and Gastone will see a lot of play from me.

I'm afraid Durant, Jakes, and Aiakos will gather lots of dust on many people's shelves. I feel Aiakos is one of the best, but Cryx seems very resistant to change right now. Durant and Jakes just bring less to their factions than most other 3point options. Elara won't see much play for her rules, but that is a very pretty model and more than a few people will want to put it on the table. She may also find her place as more ret lights are released.

The LE Gastone model will probably have the lowest resale value in spite of the most desirable rules just because his sculpt is disappointing. Several people have already announced intentions to replace theirs with the standard version.

Jakes- I could actually see her being used to shepherd a Charger into battle. Once she casts her upkeep on it, it will have an awesome defence, and still have the full 3 focus it wants (unlike with the Jr.). You now have an autonomous assassination duo, for only 7 points. I could see this being a really useful pair for taking out solos, UA's, arcnodes, and the like. I could definitely think of worse ways to spend 7 points.

I can't speak about Jakes and Aiakos, but Durant is going to get used a lot. The Menoth PP forums buzz with tactics for him.

Any Menoth list that uses Redeemers will see his use as a Focus battery.

There is also a lot of talk about running him with a Redeemer and Sanctifier. He slaps Fortify on the Sanctifier and lets go off on its own to gather souls. Then he can fully fuel the Redeemer from way in the back while still upkeeping fortify.

Durant is probably going to be one of the more commonly run Juniors next to Gastone. He's not being run for True Sight, but for his 4 Focus and potentially an independent Sanctifier with Fortify.

He's going to be in all my pKreoss lists for sure.

Jakes looks awesome with a charger. She'll be DEF17, it'll be DEF 15, and two fully boosted POW12s a turn at 12" will be nice.

She's also not bad with a melee jack. A standard Ironclad at DEF14 is actually tough for most heavies to reliably hit, and with energizer she can get it where she needs quickly.

Jakes is also amazing with a Thunderhead, increasing its pulse's threat range up to 14".

I already have a pHaley + all the solos list planned up. Hmmm, 17 focus each turn...

Unless you've already bought it during the KS then you won't get one of these. (Unless you manage to get one from eBay, of course).

But there will be non-limited ed. versions of every one of these as well.

IMHO, Durant is in a faction with lots of cheap units and lots of strong 2 point solos. I fell that his 3 points is at odds with the usual "moar stuff" approach that Menoth takes. He occupies the same zone as Nicia, good rules, but players find it hard to free points, let alone dedicated warjacks to give him.

Jakes at +1 point over a standard Journeyman, she provides better stats and offensive flexibility over arcane shield on legs. Cygnar casters typically want to keep their focus to fuel their powerful spells, so I think she's a good fit.

Malakov has frightneingly low defensive stats. I'm really unsure as to whether he'll be in lists for the long haul, as he is entirely reliant on sucker to stay alive. Khador's jacks are generally lacklustre, and the good ones are expensive. Unsure comboing a warjack with him is worth it over a full unit of Khador's excellent infantry. Giving him Conquest for moar speed is an option though.

IMHO, Aikos screams "attach Stalkers to my battlegroup". He's got the most durability out of the journeymen, and if Khador got this guy, I'd be loosing my mind. Cryx is spoiled for choice though, so outside of niche applications, I can't see him used much.

Gastone will be used all the time, as Mercs really need the extra flexibility and the discount on vanguards is pretty saucy.

Elara functions more like a super solo who also happens to be able to run warjacks. Not sure what she brings over the Mage Hunter Assasin in terms of killyness, and not sure what jacks you would run with her.

I'm not quite so sure about Jakes w. Melee jack. All our good melee jacks are heavies, and so we approach the point where attacking Jakes (Def 17 and all) becomes a lot more viable, and would be removing at least 10pt from our army. At this point, anyone with AoE's is going to use them on the heavy, just to splash Jakes.

she's ctually the same cost as a regular journeyman. That's how good arcane shield. is.

He's also a fantastic choice for the Leviathan in Denny lists. The hardest part of the Leviathan is coughing up three focus for him every turn. Another tough part about the Levi is Spd5 which hurts its melee threat and its ranged positioning.

Otherwise he may be best ran as a super solo, especially with buff/debuff casters like pSkarre, 3Gaspy, the Deneghras, etc. Three points for four focus, Stealth, Jump, Harpoon, and Grievous Wounds? Pretty solid on its own.

Edit: I think Jakes and Elara win my vote for best sculpts. Those ladies are beautiful! Gaston is my least favorite, suffering from 2D-ness in his pose. From our birds-eye view of the table, he's going to look like a pair of shoulderpads and a base. I'm not sure how I feel about Aiakos's sculpt. His helmet horns and harpoon points are much thicker and less sinister-looking than they were in the art, but I understand that bits like that break or are very fiddly so I can't be too upset. I guess his pose also looks too... pose-like. He's not about to throw the harpoon, he's not about to slash someone open with the blade, he's not about to leap into a new position. He's just standing there like "Alright, how's this pose?"

I play both cygnar and mercs I will differently being trying out my two limited edition sculpts when i finally get them. I think the journeyman will be used personally. I think all of them are solid, I think Menoth one will probably be used the most due to the jack support that faction brings.

With Jacks I will be trying as just a solo with no jacks, I have a feeling that energizer, sprint, and parry plus 4 focus she can end being solid.

I've got plans to use Gastone with a pair of Vanguards in a Damiano list (damaging on feat turn, and 4-pt Vanguards will usually need a lot more than 4pts to dislodge), or with a Mariner alongside Ashlynn--good long-range shooting, anti-knockdown on tap (which Ash needs), and it's got a respectable melee weapon for the late game that people tend to forget about.

"The 75mm gun is firing. The 37mm gun is firing, but is traversed round the wrong way. The Browning is jammed. I am saying "Driver, advance." and the driver, who can't hear me, is reversing. And as I look over the top of the turret and see twelve enemy tanks fifty yards away, someone hands me a cheese sandwich."
