Hey guys,
first post here on Dakka Dakka, so here's to a good future!
Here is my 6e 750 Space Marine proposed list for an upcoming campaign. It is a friendly campaign between some pals and is not serious, nor are any of us 'powergamers'. Just wondering what suggestions people had!
Thanks,
Noremac

Missile launchers are not very useful. Even for small games.

Good to know, what would be the recommended substitute?

First, welcome to Dakka.

You might want to read the sticky at the top of this forum for the posting rules. For point costs, just give a squad summery, not individual point values.

On a personal note, please leave out all the stock wargear on the units. I know a lot of list builders include it in the output, but it makes for a lot of text to sift through to get “5 man tac squad, w/ML

What chapter tactics are you using?

I like MLs personally. They are a jack of all trades weapon, so don’t excel at any one role. That said, think about what your squads are going to be doing. If they are going to be racing forward in the razors, hopping out to shoot something, you might be better of with a special weapon, rather then a heavy. Someone should probably think about camping on your home objective. I use sniper scouts for this job, but a 5 man stick of tactical marines with a PC or LC can also work.

You have no reliable AA fire. This may be an issue, depending on what your friends bring. The LCs on the razors have a chance to pop heavy armor, but a little melta in your list is nice to have.

The HF speeder seems like an afterthought. What I might do is drop it and use the points to swap one of your razorbacks for a real tank. Pred or Vindi, depending on your tastes.

So sorry, did not look at the forum rules first. Won't happen again!
I completely forgot about chapter tactics to be honest, and we are playing a campaign with some special rules.
No flyers being a biggie, so I am not worried about AA. My plan was to have the tac. squads start out of the Razorbacks, our campaign doesn't allow for any vehicles with armor 13+ on any facing so I am using the Razorbacks as firepower, not transports, but I may use them to move up one of my tac. Squads. Any suggestions? Sorry, I know it's a weird set of rules and I'm new to 6e Space Marines, by background is primarily Eldar.

Edit: My hope is that at low points cost with vehicle restrictions having so much armor will be good. I am aligned with three other players, Eldar, IG, and Tau who all are fielding 750 point armies against CSM, Tyranids, Orks, and Necrons who all have 750 points.

I personally like Lascannons or Plasmaguns and your Razorbacks have plenty.

Have you talked to your allies about what they are bringing? 3 armies that are planed together are going to do a lot better then 3 TAC lists fighting side by side. Is this an escalation type campaign, where you add to your existing force? Any other odd rules?

Some random thoughts:

Your IG friend takes a giant blob of infantry and camps your home objective. Sprinkles some heavy weapons around to form a firebase.

Eldar works as a mobile reaction force, going midfield, seizing objectives.

Instead of tanks, you go with drop pods, land in their backfield, and disrupt their world. You might not live to see turn three, but should leave their army a shattered ruin for your teammates to mop up.

Jus a thought on how you can build three armies that play to their strengths and work together. One of the last games I played I was allied with Tau. He took charge of our backfield, freeing me to go full throttle offense. It was fun!

I do enjoy that idea and I will be talking to my allies in advance, but they are hoping to build around me. The scenario is that my four (the Imperium + Allies) are trying to hold a city while the Xenos + Chaos rush it. Does that help at all?

Forgot to add, it is not escalation. We are all just casual gamers and decided to play one giant game with sort of an apocalypse feel to it, issue is, we don't have big armies nor the time for an all day event. If I can think of any other strange rules we have I will let you know, but you should know that we are following basic combat patrol rules for unit restrictions.
