Hey DakkaDakka!

First post and first time war gamer. Just bought a bunch of Necron units on the cheap and I'm looking to make an Army out of them. This isnt going to be competitive, just something to play with friends.

So heres the list.

HQ

For wargear/weapons I've currently got a Mindshackle Scarabs and a Warscythe.

That should add up to 1000, according to battle scribe.

Thats the list, unfortunately I cant really afford to not use most of these units, as I bought these units in a bundle for a crazy low price. However I would appreciate any advice you could give me with wargear and my options.

Question: is everything glued together/painted? Or can you swap between Annihilation and Command Barge?
If not, well... hopefully you didn't pay too much for them?
(I mean, you got some Immortals and Warriors, those are always useful... 'course, you're going to need a lot more to have them be effective. And a Ghost Ark! Those can be handy... sometimes. ... and maybe you can use that Monolith as terrain? Tables always need line of sight blocking terrain. The Lychguard? ... ... ... hopefully your opponents won't mind you proxying them as something else?)

What are the Lychguard and Immortals armed with? I agree with ask Skoffs, are you getting the Gun Bits to turn the CCB into an Anni barge? If not, it's fine. It doesn't sound like you're going to expand the army too much and we ask because it comes in the one kit.

If the Lychguard are armed with Warscythes, then they're still useable. (Counts as Royal Court.). If they're Sword n Shield, then that's fine as well, you have a Monolith you can use with them, but don't expect too much from them.

The list is definitely playable at 1k points. As for gear, you should try to get a Sempiternal Weave (2+ sv) or a Phase Shifter (3i sv). Try them both as you're learning to play and see which one you like better. I don't recommend getting both.

It sounds like money is tight, but if the Lychguard is equipped with Shields, I'd look around for some Warscythe bits as the cheapest alternative, they really are the worst thing in your list. If you can squeeze in a box, a box of Immortals to fill out your existing squad would be your best option. If you don't care too much about appearance, you can even use the sniper arms on the Lychguard to turn them into Deathmarks.
