Good morning/afternoon all!

I am an active duty member preparing to transfer to San Diego this summer and i am trying to find either a gaming group or a store. I will be stationed on MCRD. I do not know the area at all and i have no idea where i will be living at, but i figured i would at least pulse out and see if i can start talking to some people. I play Flames of War the most (early, mid and late war) but also have some 40k. thanks for reading.

Hey I know of a couple of places down in San Diego.

First the one I frequented most was Game Empire. It is based in Kearny Mesa. They have a web site and a forums page. Last time I checked they had a group that played flames of war, and a large following for 40k. I would ask for John, he is an employee and last time I talked with him a big fan of Flames of War.

Next would be At Ease Games, which is in Miramar, close to a base.

Lastly would be Pair of Dice, that is on the northn end of San Diego out off the 78. Hope this helps.

Hope this helps!

San Diego

Hi I just moved to San Diego earlier this week. Still in search of a good game with friendly player. Only been to Games Empire but was not impressed. I said 'hi' to probably 5 people and didn't get a single.response. felt like I was surrounded by a bunch of antisocial mouth breathers. Will try At Ease Games. The reviewsare very promising. Not looking to play a bunch of WAAC or power gamers. HIt me up when you make it in to town and we can set something up. I don't have any of.my terrain (had to leave it with some friends due to moving logistics) but I have my models and am.eager to get playing.

Honestly at Game Empire I have the opposite problem; people always try to talk to me! Every time I go in there I get people to chat, even if I am just combing through extra bits XD Its a really friendly place, maybe you went on a really busy day, like Friday night?

San Diego

No it was league night. I was told by the employee that the guy who runs the league wasn't even there, and the only way to get in was to show up on first day of the league and hopefully there would still be room. He said sometimes people can reserve a spot if they get in good with the league organizer and if not I would be put on a waiting list. Honestly it sounds like way to much 'hoping' to get into a league.

the 40k crowd at At Ease is quite friendly, theres a good mix of casual and more "serious" players there. I just got back into 6th recently and I play EW and LW FoW.

As Above the two places to check out when you get here are Game Empire and At Ease. Pair a Dice will be too far away for you to travel regularly if your stationed down town.

Not sure what happend with the above poster but the league players at Game Empire are very friendly and as long as they aren't busy will engage with new players pretty readily. As far as the league, it is first come first serve as it usually fills up/gets close, but if you come on the first week of a new leauge your basically gauranteed a spot.

You can also try Saturday. That's when my group plays at game empire. We are all pretty friendly. And my group has several current and prior military members.

So i was heading to San Diego and pretty siked about the gaming crowd that appears to be there, but in a twist of events, i am now heading to Cape May NJ. Are there any groups that people know of that game in South Jersey? I cannot even find a store anywhere near me.
