Can someone tell me if a secondary hit from an Assault Missile will drop a stealth device? I know that Bombs won't as they are not an attack... but Assault Missiles are, so I'm a bit confused.

It will not. Stealth devices are only canceled on a hit, which means an attack that rolled against your evade dice and gave you damage. Effects that just inflict damage directly or give you damage cards (bombs, asteroids, assault missile secondary effects, etc) are not hits and will not discard the stealth device. The important thing here is that the missile has two separate effects: a 4-dice secondary weapon attack against one target, and a second "splash damage" effect that is triggered if the attack does any damage.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.
