Hello Dakka,

I've been thinking recently about a conversion for my soon to be inquisitor. I plan on using this model who a Dakka member posted earlier this week as the base. She will, predominantly, be a Divination user throwing Prescience at her IG Allies.

I had a thought though, How would you go about modelling Prescience or other Divination powers? They don't really have a visual effect like most other powers (fireballs, lightning, all those good things) and is more of a 'feeling' sort of deal. If you look at the description for Prescience;
"The Psyker can effortlessly predict the paths of bullets and swords. Focusing his Warp-sight even more closely, he can guide his allies aims, bringing a swift and merciless death to their foes"
It seems very wibbly-wobbly. I'm not even sure how a Psyker would go about 'Guiding' a squad of 30 Guardsmen "Oh Frank you'll need to raise your sight 3 inches, John, 2 inches left, Barry stop shooting into the sky" unless he is psychically manipulating the bullets (or lasers) in mid-flight.

So, the long and short of it is, how would you model a Divination power like Prescience? or if you wish to be specific, for this model. I was thinking of doing a sort of open hand with a whispy cloud effect in place of the pistol. I'm not sure how that would turn out though.

What would you guys and gals do?

Luminious yellow glow from the eyes and hands, arms raised out the side like so:

And well yea, maybe a light blue glow instead of yellow...

Not a bad idea, though my skills with anything glowing are highly questionable.

I dont know what your feelings are on the matter but have you considered getting it commissioned as a center piece model? They generally do all the assembly and conversion work, and because inquisitors dont have a uniform it could end up stunning...

But either way im sure itll end up nice, and go simple and just paint the eyes an unatural colour to represent powers at work. The safe route.

Yeah, probably the wise approach. I was thinking of a more pronounced effect but subtle could work too.
