Behind you...

When I say aspiring champion I mean the model that is under HQ and costs £12.
Anyway it is as the title suggests I picked on up today was going to run him with a combi melta (which is on his back) and either a power sword or the axe of blind fury. Probably a lord of khorne.

Can't see any reason why not. It's a great model, and as long as it's WYSIWYG no one should have any problems.

If you're going to an official GW event, just email them and ask if you're not sure.

I don't get it, surely the answer is yes. I mean if it was a standard say khorne berserker, then i could see it being a bit off to represent a lord.

Is it not really the case you can use anything as anything as long as your opponent isnt bothered? Albeit theres a limit on how stupid you can get.

GW events/Stores can be really uptight about only using the "appropriate models", GW models, and being fully painted to be sure that the customer is "fully enjoying all aspects of the hobby" whether they like it or not.

Yet it officially recommends using a Plaguebearer captain as a herald of Nurgle despite there being an official model for the herald of Nurgle.

Basically, if it looks like a marine, but fancier, then you should be good.

Adding things like Gold Trim instead of Silver Trim can make a model look fancier or more important than it might otherwise.

If the model is properly equipped, and modeled, there shouldn't be a problem.

Make him extra spikey and no one would know the difference. Maybe stand him on a rock to make him taller.

The Aspiring Champion plastic kit was released as a plastic kit for you to bash, or use as is, for any Lord or Aspiring Champion.

I mean playing $20 bucks for a Sgt. unit is a joke, so I'd be pretty upset if they didn't let you run it as a lord if you wanted.

I'm using Vilitch the Curseling as my Chaos Lord. It's pretty obvious though, as he is on a Disc of Tzeentch.

I use that model as a sorcerer but I switched the backpack with a possessed backpack as it looks more possessed like the armour.

Since you can make any model your lord it's fine. The only thing people might give out about is if you were using it as a proxy for another model but that would be a weak complaint.

It's not the size of the blade, it's how you use it.

I use that model as a Kharn. He works great for that. Axe, pistol (holstered) and a CCW that has 0 effect in-game anyway! And I just say the combimelta is a trophy.
