Ork bikers. Are they effective? If so what are some good tactics for making them work?

Would be keen to hear good ways to use bikers myself, got a ton of them but they gather dust because of being so flimsy for their price

The main thing I have found when using them is be careful about putting them in close combat. They are definitely a shooty unit, only assault if it will let them wipe the target out or other stuff is assaulting too

OK

Warbikers need a serious overhaul. They are simply not even close to being worth it when you look at things like white scars that are better in every conceivable way except maybe by a very slight margin in shooting.
Nob bikers are still awesome but warbikers are just not worth it at all currently.

Ya I run nob bikers with a warboss on bike, power claws, boss poll. They work quite well for me. Normal bikers I never run for reasons stated above

Warbikers are fun, but for the price tag they're not worth it. At 15pts each over 'Ard boys, you get +1 Toughness, better movement, 4+ cover, and twin-linked Big Shootas at half range. Which is nothing to scoff at, but you lose Fearless since you'll never have enough models to stay at 11+. And, with such flimsy base leadership, they're incredibly easy to break.
And no, losing a 250 point squad because of Leadership is not fun. I should know.

I find they are only worth bringing when you can exploit their janky cover save. Pre-tau or eldar I used to run some necrons with either stormlord or solar pulse to have 2+ cover saves turn one.

You obviously wouldn't do this against tau or eldar, but hell, you are orks, you should have no ethical problems teching against them haha.

As 40KNobz11 stated, but add the ork who gives feel no pain. I've seen this unit in person wreck many lists/units. Highly underestimated unit.

only nobz can get the painboy. IF regular biker boyz could take a painboy on a bike, they might justify their ridiculous points cost. AFAIK biker boyz should cost only slightly more than stormboyz. Maybe 15-16 points. You might justify making them higher with an IC painboy on bike option.

I run them with Wazdakka so they're scoring. Often use Nob bikes with Warboss & Painboy as well.

They're awesome in killteam

And can be used as a min squad with a pk nob: 2 bikerz, 1 pk nob - 110 pts. Expensive for 3 models but if you manage to hide them long enough - can be good at tank-hunting or flank oppression. Though, other uses rather than killteam are more of a "desperately wana field those fancy models no matter what".
