just a random question but does the storm raven have to roll to arrive via reserves or does it always arrive on turn 2?

Via stronghold assault with the ready for takeoff upgrade...yes...it would be deployed on the board on the shield in hover mode with a 4+ invulnerable as you'll leave the shield up.
