Hey guys,

Just got a load more Vostroyan stuff come through and the heavy weapon teams bases seem to be different. They are much thinner than the standard bases although the diameter remains the same.

Not seen these before and just wondered if this is now the norm.....means my heavy bolter teams wont be able to see above a crisp wrapper at this rate lol.

Sounds like they're still on the older bases... Before the current 60mm(ish) bevelled base, GW temporarily used a flat 60mm base that ws originally designed for Epic titans.

Yup.

The metal Warhammer 40k Deff Dreads and Killa Kanz used to come with them too.

I use the flat 60mm for basing terrain trees, you could suppose use them for the sentinels to lower profile.

You could, but then people yell at you for being a waac tfg that mfa and only plays taudar and is upset that the nids dex doesnt have a 2++ autowin button etc. (I.e. most of the people I see defending gw on these threads keep making these assumptions about things like this that dont make sense at all)

They are indeed the old bases. All my Steel Legion Lascannons and Heavy Bolters had them. I just ordered a couple packs of the new one and swapped them out. The old ones make great bases for trees and objective markers that you can put ammo or fuel markers on.

Given that the difference in height is less than 2mm, it's not going to do that much for you, profile-wise...

Yeah, if my SENTINELS being on lower bases is what causes me to win a game...

Well duh we all know that sentinels are the strongest fast attack choice in the game and is just dominating the meta

Last I saw they still use it for the Steel Legion heavy weapon teams.
