I recently acquired the new baneblade/shadowsword kit. I was hoping to be able to just switch between the builds. I just found out the front piece is slightly different. So I come to you dakka with this question. Is the baneblade worth building? I am not into the idea of just throwing D around.
I would suggest looking for some kind of easy to switch way on the internet, someone will have found a way to magnetize the kit so you can use both. £85 is not the type of money to just make do on a model.
The issue is the front plate locks between the two side pieces. i'm not confident in my abilities to fix that part. Thanks though. Most everywhere I have looked say you either get one or the other.
What I do in those situations is go "which one do I definately want?" Then I build that one slowly, Next I tinker with the peices of the one I dont want so much and try make that one compatible. Doesnt always work but it means you dont ruin the whole kit buy playing around with all your peices.
The Shadowsword is the obvious best choice. But if you don't want to use D-weapons the Baneblade is decent. It's expensive and dies a lot more easily than you might expect, but its gun is decent and it's going to keep shooting at full strength every turn until the last HP is removed. If you're playing in a "casual" environment where most people take lots of less-optimal choices then taking a Baneblade because giant tanks are cool probably won't cost you too many games.
There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

Trim the tabs off the centerpiece. You can then just slide the entire central assembly in and out to change between patterns. I did this with both of mine.
