Hi all, I'd like to gather your opinions on a couple Daemons lists I've made, and which you think I should bring to an upcoming tourney and why.
Tournament is going to be 3 rounds with BAO style missions (not sure on the specifics yet) Will most likely be seeing IG, Various flavors of Marines, some either Mechdar or Seer Council, and some Taudar.
Competitive feedback is appreciated, but also your thoughts on things like sportsmanship/generalship etc.
All C&C welcome and thanks in advance!

--Heralds and Hounds

Fatey: 300

Herald of Tzeench: 175
ML3, Disc, Locus of Conjuration, Exalted (Grimoire)

Herald of Tzeench: 150
ML3, Disc, Exalted (Portalglyph)

Herald of Khorne: 130
Juggernaut, Lesser (Axe of Khorne)

11x Horrors: 99
11x Horrors: 99

16x Daemonettes: 144

14x Hounds: 224

7x Screamers: 175

--The Derp Circus

Fatey: 300

Daemon Prince: 310
DoT, ML2, Flight, WFA, Exalted

Deamon Prince: 310
DoT, ML2, Flight, WFA, Exalted

Be'Lakor: 350

10x Horrors: 90
10x Horrors: 90

10x Cultists: 50

So obviously the second list is pretty much your standard Flyinc Circus, but I'd like to know A.) could it be a better Flying Circus, and B.) How do the two lists stack up to each other? Can a slightly less conventional take on Daemons hang with the touted Flying Circus? I've always wanted to use one, but i don't really wanna be TFG at the tournament. Ramblings and ethics aside I'd really just like to hear what you think of the lists.

Ha I kind of thought that's the answer this would recieve.

You don't find any validity in the early game pressure of grimoie'd dogs though?

What about the enhanced S6 dakka that the Tz'eralds can put out?

Daemonettes can be pretty nasty in the right situation as well. In my last game with the Heralds and Hounds they pretty much wrecked a Seer Council the turn they charged in after my opponent ate my dogs with the Council. They killed 6 warlocks and put some wounds on the Farseers. All the while the screamer and Tzeralds popped Serpents and ate his troops.

Also, any changes you would make to the Circus?

Be'Lakor is a force multiplier. At 1500 I question if there's enough force to multiply, especially given his 400pt cost (post Cultist tax). I'd debate swapping him for a Slaanesh Prince toting Lash in the second Daemons HQ slot or a Nurgle Prince with the Balesword (former for AA, latter for anti-MC). This also frees points for ML and/or additional Rewards on the Princes.

They are my bulwark against the Terror. They are the Defenders of Humanity. They are my Space Marines, and they shall know no fear.

I considered that, but guaranteed invis just seems too good to pass up. And the tax, as you say, doesn't seem like too much of a tax considering Flying Circuses are always always light on scoring units.

He most certainly is a force multplier, but unlike Fatey, he is a force multiplier that is also just as much of a beatstick as any other DP. Granted he doesn't have the instagibbing goodness of the Balesword, but his sword does have fleshbane. So 6 most likely prescienced attacks at WS9 I8 wounding on 2+ still seems like it would do the trick. As far as AA goes I think, barring Storm Ravens, Fatey and the other Tzeench Princes dumping handfuls of flickering fire in to rear/side armor on flyers should handle it pretty well. Lash + Iron Arm is ridiculously nasty, but not near as reliable as the durability that Be'Lakor can bestow upon the rest of the list. Hallucinating a unit of Broadsides or a Riptide also really puts a damper on the damage output of your opponents army at 1500 pts as well.

I do appreciate the suggestions though, I'll probably try to run a couple versions of the list and see which I like best.

So assuming I do drop Be'Lakor, how does this look?

Fatey: 300

Daemon Prince: 305
DoS, ML2, WFA, Flight, 2x Greater

Daemon Prince: 355
DoT, ML3, WFA, Flight, Exalted

Daemon Prince: 355
DoT, ML3, WFA, Flight, Exalted

10x Horrors
10x Horrors

Last question: In what order do you roll for your powers on the Tzeench Princes? I've got an idea, but I'd like to hear another opinion.

I've got...

Fateweaver - 300

Slaaensh Prince - 330
ML3, Armor, Wings, 2x Greater

10x Horrors - 90
10x Horrors - 90

Tzeentch Prince - 335
ML3, Armor, Wings, Exalted
Tzeentch Prince - 335
ML3, Armor, Wings, Exalted

Double check your point values. Something's not adding up. Unless you threw a Greater at both those Tzeentch Princes without marking it.

Weighs in at 1480, so two lesser rewards or Horror groups to 11x.

Ha yeah thats what I did. My bad.

Figured the greater gives them a decent chance of being more durable, and if not then being str 8 from the staff couldn't hurt.

I agree with most of the people, Be Lakor is a bit overpriced pointswise for a 1500 pts game, but hands down to flying circus
