Hi there!

I am hoping to attend a competition in March with my Imperial Guards and have assembled this list.

What can I change to make it better?

Thanks in advance!

looks okay but lascannon in Infantry squads can be a little iffy, the autocannon's are useful though. i'm sure there will be better advice from more experienced players.

Only the Insane have strength enough to prosper, Only those who prosper may truly judge what is sane.

IMO;

Ordinance Russes shouldn't have Lascannons. The Ordinance rule makes them Snap Shot so they are near-useless. I'd scrap that in particular.

Heavy Weapons Teams are really good, they can kill what needs killing and not waste shots. Consider them for your Lascannon duties instead.

I personally don't like Griffons, but I can see why you would. Up to you here.

Current Proposed Rules Project: Orkish AC-130 Spekta Gunship!

WAAAGH Sparky!
1400 (ish) - On the rebound!
Kommander Sparks DKoK
1000 (ish) - Now on the backburner

- Men, you're lucky men. Soon, you'll all be fighting for your planet. Many of you will be dying for your planet. A few of you will be put through a fine mesh screen for your planet. They will be the luckiest of all.

Removed the Ordnance Russ's Lascannon, leaves me with 15pts extra

Heavy Weapons teams are just that much more expensive though. But thanks

I have updated it to this:

Had to sacrifice: Grenade Launchers, Heavy Bolter Sponsons from the second Leman Russ.

Just take barebones demolishers if you want strong blasts.

Also, i'd drop the heavy weapon team and add melta-drop stormtroopers.

4 stormtroopers [2 meltas]
1 stormtrooper sarge [plazma pistol, hot-shot pistol]

They cost just 112 pts but are a really awesome melta-deathdrop cause they can reroll deepstrike dice. And don't forget they can throw a s6 ap4 nade also. They appear to work way better than heavy weapon teams.
Also, i'd go with comms relay on an adl. It not only helps your vendetta and marbo (and probably stormtroopers if you take them), but helps delaying the opponent's reserves if needed.

Are you going to deploy the platoons in massive blobs? If so, you can scrap one of the vox casters; a blob only needs one. That can save you a few points to buy an additional special weapon, grenades, camo cloaks, or a few Ratlings.

What? I like Ratlings. They have their uses.

I think you have a well rounded list that has decent firepower and defense. I'm sure some more experienced players can add their two cents here though.

I like the list! Very close to a 2k one that I'm building.

A few ideas/critiques:

Vox casters are sort of a waste I've found unless you know that your rolling is going to fail, don't bother with them. (lady luck is a fickle bitch for some).

Squadroned tanks are a bad idea unless you're doing armored battlegroup style play. They have to keep in cohesion and even with the abandon ability it still limits your ability to provide fire support across a larger spectrum.

I've taken Griffon's once, against Orks. They wrecked faces, but again, that was Orks. You might find yourself wishing for a third Leman Russ, but that's really up to what you find in the field.

@mr_bruno: I love my Ratlings. Unfortunately you can almost always find more guns or more useful units for their price. If the OP wants to try them hell, they might be indispensable.

Note: LRBT's (the standard variants) aren't all that great anymore without the Lumbering Behemoth rule. If you're going to take ordnance Russes take Demolishers. If you don't care, or want a different variant to try, I'd recommend the Exterminator, Vanquisher, or the Punisher, all of which are pretty fun to play.
