Subject: 1850 Dark Scars (Space Marines/Dark Eldar/Inquisition)

There's a little bit of army fluff behind this list. My Ordo Xenos Inquisitor, Bartollomeo, and his Interrogator, Paul, have discovered a threat to the Imperium. Through their years of investigating Xenos threats they have developed some contact with the aliens and, now, one of their perennial foes has turned, temporarily, into an ally. They have enlisted Archon Velmoor to aid against a Necron threat, the machines are trying to force open a portal to the Webway on a planet in an Imperial sector, a stones throw from an inhabited imperial system.
The inquisitor has enlisted the aid of the Horned Satyrs, a Space Marine chapter with which he has had dealings in the past. He intends for the Space Marines to aid in the elimination of Velmoor and his Dark Eldar once the Necron threat is dealt with. They have detailed a few first company veterans, supported by the a squad of Sixth Company support marines and the Captain of the Sixth Company, Brother Captain Rewcius. The Satyrs frequently work with the inquisition, particularly Bartollomeo and trust his judgement, thus he is the lynchpin holding this uneasy alliance together.
Putting together the tactical genius of Velmoor and the contact network nurtured by Paul they hope to get the drop on the Necrons before the machines can muster any sort of response.
Primary Deatachment Space Marines (White Scars)
HQ
(Rewcius) Kossaro Kahn
Elites
10 Sternguard, 10 Combi Melta, Drop Pod
Troops
3 Space Marine Bikers, 2 Plasma Guns, Attack bike with Multi Melta, Sergrant With Combi Plasma
3 Space Marine Bikers, 2 Plasma Guns, Attack bike with Multi Melta, Sergrant With Combi Plasma
Allied Detachment Dark Eldar
HQ
(Velmoor) Absdruael Vect
Elites
4 Trueborn, 2 Splinter Cannon, 2 Blaster, Venom, 2 Splinter Cannon
Troops
5 Kabalite Warriors, Blaster, Venom, 2 Splinter Cannon
Inquistorial Detachment Inquisition
HQ
(Interrogator Paul) Coteaz
(Inquisitor Bartollomeo) Ordo Xenos Inquisitor, Psyker (Hammer Hand), Force Sword, Combi Flamer, Power Armour, Liber Hersius
Elites
3 Henchmen, 2 Meltas, Land Raider Crusader, Multi Melta, Psybolt Ammunition
Tactics
The Inquisitors go into the Land Raider with the Henchmen. Kahn joins a bike squad. Vect goes with the Trueborn. Venoms are deployed in my deployment zone, everything else scouts directly at the enemy. I am very likely to go first. Drop pods fall meltas move into range, vehicles are blown up with abandon. Splinter fire and Crusader fire deal with infantry. The enemy should have little to respond with.

Your bike units arent troops iirc, min of 5 marines are needed to become troops.
Against a single pod it is very easy to bubble wrap. With just venoms and 6 bikers and 10 marines I would exactly say it is a good alpha strike list either, I would also say your scoring is weak imo.

This looks like Herohammer. Plus Sternguard. Even your Trueborn are just providing a cheaper pimp mobile for Vect. I'm not saying this won't work but a ton of your points are going into special characters and this is coming from a Blood Angels player.
That said you do have a very strong alpha strike with two squads full of melta in range turn 1, plasma bikes, venom cannon assistance and psybolt crusader/multimelta fire
I wish you luck in defeating the Necron threat and scourging the vile traitor alien Velmoor from the face of the planet!

I have 5 marines in the bike squads, 3 bikes, sergeant and attack bike.
Bubble wrap may be a problem, but the Sternguard can use their Special Ammunition against troops and the other 7 Meltas/Multi Meltas in the list can still hurt vehicles.
I have 10 bikes, also a Land Raider Crusader, with Psybolts, butting out 12 TL Str5 shots, 4 TL Str 7 Rending shots and Multi melta shot.
Scoring is a huge hole, with only 3 scoring units.

It is rather Herohammery. Coteaz plus Vect is 340 points and essentially give me the gimmick of a 4+ rerollable sieze.
Thanks for your comments both!

I'm sorry but for 1850, this list would get pick apart easier than the new tyanids and that is saying a lot!

To be fair I'd probably giggle at that list coming towards me as well. Not enough models ans too much spend on hq.

Cool, me too. First armies I intend to test it aginst, will let you know how it goes. Reckon I can take out all the lance weaponry T1, then it should be an uphill battle for DE.

This is why I always choose to deploy second as I can hide or reserve anything that is likely to get owned.

I tend to deploy second too and do the same sort of thing, problem with doing this against this army is that it has just enough punch to be a real threat of tabling T1, depending what you leave on the board.

That is the usual aim, I was hoping to get around the hiding using the scout move, followed by normal move on the bikes and Landraider. Not to mention the podding sternguard.
