Emboldened Warlock

Hey all,
I'm looking to add a LoinCloth to my wraithknight so that he matches the wraithlords, guards and blades.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to go about doing this? Or even better a tutorial on how to do it?

I've had a Wraithknight sitting in pieces on my desk for a few months now because I want to do this but haven't quite mustered up the courage to try it! I've never done more then minor gap filling with green stuff so it's a little intimidating.

You could try gluing some cardboard that's been cut roughly in the shape of what you want the cloth to be to use a base for sculpting.
Here's a tut from ftw: http://fromthewarp.blogspot.com.au/2010/11/greenstuff-tabard-tutorial.html
Doing one for something as long as a wraithknight will definitely be harder than that, but the same concepts apply and should be a great learning experience.
Good luck!

you could try paper stiffened with pva glue saw some Napoleonic's and us civil war flags that were quite large and shaped to look like they were flapping in the wind

Or you could just use thin cotton, cut in the right size and shape then attach it to it as a real loin cloth would be. Or there is the Alluminium can method used for banners.

I'd basically mix my greenstuff, make a nice rectangle, let it cure for a couple of minutes, then carefully shape it into a loincloth
take a look at some youtube tutorials like:

Is it worth using pure green stuff or mixing it with another putty? I know some people mix Milliput in but I've never tried it.

Sorry guys I don't have a camera to show what I do .This method can also be used for banners as well.Make an outline on thick plastic of your loincloth, remember to put in directional air flow to show direction of the breeze.Cut finger shape pieces of plastic fairly narrow and laminate them together.Do no more then three. Now envision where your fabric folds are at.Usually you will have one large central fold with smaller ones at the edge. The smaller ones will be glued on backside of the plastic,Now with carving tools, files and or roto tools, dig the plastic out on the oppisite side of were you glued the fingers of plastic.Finish sanding your surfaces and now you have dynamic looking fabric.

Now shave the plastic thin on the edge only to give it a scale look.Blend sand your edges in paint and your set to go .Look at and study flags outdoors, they will be your best study.I hope this will help out.Ask any questions you might have I will be glad to answer them
