I have had this game for awhile. It was a lot of fun for a bit, but then a character I had built up died, and I never recovered. Haven't played it since lol.

I really wish someone would make a Space Hulk, or some kind of Epic game with the same quality as this game was done. While it does get a little repetative, its still pretty great considering its a phone app.

DLC does not appear to be discounted, but the base game is certainly fun enough to be worth the asking price IMO.

Are you playing on some kind of crazy hardcore mode that I'm unaware of?

Because if not, your character dying doesn't stop you from continuing on with them...

Hardcore / Premi-death mode can be turned on when starting a new party.

There are various games that are heavily 'inspired' by it though.

It's fun little game, that gets pretty tedious as you level up. Intead of getting new monsters, you get Room full of Orc Big Bosses and Warlords, with inflated HP and multiple attacks.

Yeah, the main problem is the natural limit imposed by where the monster encounters stop, IIRC L7 onwards in the board game you started getting minor monsters trying to eat face. They need to add Daemons and general large monsters to the mix.

Yep, but the only dangerous thing in the Undead is the Vampire Lord, the rest are weak.

Approx hardness of dungeons:
Upgraded Orcs (Savage Orcs & Stone Trolls)
Skaven
Undead
Critters
Basic Orcs & Goblins

The Marauder is a bit over the top lol....7 attacks (including items) and crits higher than T6 -> 37-42 damage per hit on a Stone Troll.

I got it in the sale and find it a bit tedious. The level-ups are few and far between and eat up all my gold - nothing left to purchase any cool equipment.

Don't know if that's the way it's meant to be or if it's a real subtle way to get people to buy extra gold, but so far I'm not impressed.

And is it just me or is the magician almost absolutely worthless? It's really seldom that I have enough winds of magic for his ranged damaged spell and in all other cases he kinda just stands around trying not to get killed.

I will give it some more time, but I'm afraid those were wasted 0.89 EUR for me ... :-/

The only equipment worth buying is magic rings (Flensburg is where they're sold on my game, I don't know if what's sold where is random or predefined though) and maybe boots. Anything else worth having you can get as treasure. IIRC the gold requirements are in line with the board game so I don't think it's particularly cynical. It takes 15k to go from L7 to L8 and I reckon it takes about 4 dungeons to get that from monsters and selling the orange treasure you win (because actually a lot of the top tier treasure is IMO not that good).

The Grey Wizard's best spells are Occam's Mindrazor and Spectral Sanctuary, with Blood Pulse and Shadow Blast in the next tier. Before that Healing Mist is about all he's good for. Look out for quests for items that have +x power so he has more chance of using them....my guy at L8 gets 13-18 per turn. EDIT: the main let down of the Grey Wizard is that he lacks a useful 4p spell like Fireball.

After a few quests to get a handle on things I actually found the grey wizard to be the most useful character in clearing out rooms with weak monsters using the shadow blades spell which only costs 2 power and auto hits. The key is that he can hit three adjacent monsters using with the following patterns (The wizard is in green, the targeted monster is red, and the secondary monsters are in orange).

XXM
XWM
XXM

XMM
XWM
XXX

Also remember that using a spell doesn't end your movement so you can move, use a spell, move again, use another spell, etc. My strategy has been to use my HTH combat characters to pick of monsters to provide a path for the grey wizard, leaving him rows of weak creatures (spiders, bats, gobbos, etc.) to take out with one or two blasts and then use the waywatcher to finish off stragglers. It's extremely effective.

IMO Shadow Warrior > Waywatcher

4 shots, can move after shooting, 3 melee attacks that re-roll misses means 7 attacks. Also arrows of stunning mean enemy don't do anything the following turn.

You have to level him first with help of other party members. Weaken monsters and let the wizard do the final blow -> Wizard gets lot more exp.
After few levels, he'll get more power from WoM AND he'll get sizeable pool of power independent of the WoM.
