I am not a fan of the current jetbike stands. They are wobbly, weak, and do not lend themselves to being painted/flocked. Are there better sources of jetbike stands either made or bought?

Current stands for which jetbikes?
The eldar ones and the DE ones are different.
Ever tried using the post in a 40mm round base instead?
It's only a couple of mm larger than the flight stand (or a 60mm base if it's the large vehicle flying base).

Another trick is to cut off the little peg at the top, use a file or sculpting tool to increase the size of the hole on the model & then push the model down the stand. You get a much more stable model with a stand which shouldn't snap unless put under a large amount of pressure (say a foot) & which you can easily take out for transport.

Also I've started taking photos to use as reference for weathering which can be found here. Please send me your photos so they can be found all in one place!! |

I drilled out the jetbikes and mounted magnets to the stands. The angles got kind of weird, but I think it looks like movement in flight. Easy to transport too. The new bases are about 28mm, so use a standard base with a clear post.

All my Eldar jetbikes have had their stands clipped and the bike opening enlarged to fit the full stem. Now I can remove them all from the stands to transport. Some pressure and a twist fits the stand in tight enough that it stays during any handling that would happen in a game, because of the conical nature of the stand.
I learned to clip my stands back in the days of Battlefleet Gothic, when we were supposed to believe that something the weight of the old metal dreadnoughts could sty on the teeny little stem tip. HAHA!
