Ways to defeat necron and how to take down their spyders and overlords

Imperial Guard have a lot of armour options. I've never played IG with my necrons before except at the skirmish level points but I've seen some IG players field a *hit ton of various armour and artillery. If you go that route watch out for the scarabs. Fast moving, armour chewing necron units

For protection against scarabs: bubble wrap your tanks and arty with infantry. In this case, SWS with 3x flamers would easily ward off scarabs.

Infantry blob with commisar to give fearless bubble wrapped around your armor is always good.

On your offensive side, 2 vanquishers with lazcannons, 1 squad of vendetta's, and some vets with melta guns do wonders againgst necrons.

Ordinance and concentration of fire to eliminate whole units instead of spreading the shots out across many units to oly partially hurt them in order to prevent wbb rolls. I have no trouble against necrons even with a take all comers list.

Bubble wrap your tanks with infantry, use Vendettas, melta Vets and maybe a Vanquisher+LC or two to kill those AV13 vehicles.

If you bubble wrap, try to spread out as much as you can all the way around the vehicle.
If he's using an Overlord, he might have Storm-teks. If he gets within 12" of your vehicle (via either Veil teleport or Nightscythe insertion), you can say goodbye to it... try not to let him get that close.

He will outshoot you within 24 inches so you need to outshoot him 24in<.

Punisher tank with pask, executioner, manticore and a primaris psyker are probably going to be your hard hitters, other than that demolitions vets flying around in vendettas go good aswell, drop them down last turn to wipe whatever is left on an objective and steal the win also take a vanilla platoon with a Lascannon HWS and 2 Infantry squads with your command squad in a chimera to form a fire base with your tanks and psyker, this will most likely draw the necrons in especially if they take a wraith spam, show them the error of there ways as you unleash hell form your executioner punsiher and manticor, then like i said your vets in vendettas will steal the show later on.

An eradicator with HB sponsons and hull HB is pretty good. Keeps a horde of necrons from advancing on you. I would also sugggest the vanquishers like others have mentioned with some vendettas.

Some Tomb World in some galaxy by that one thing in that one place (or Minnesota for nosy people)

Take naked eradicators (will wipe out warriors in one go) vendettas will ve a huge pain to their tanks, manticores will also destroy most things the crons can field, plasma vets will destroy the things that those option couldnt kill.
