Hi All

I was wondering how does Polonius 5th edition imperial guard tactica stack up these days in 6th ?

Cheers

2nd edition: Blood Angels

4th edition: Iron Warriors
5th edition: Death Guard
6th & 7th edition: taking a break - power creeep (lethality of game) became too hot to handle

He's still reasonably active to my knowledge, so your best bet would be to PM him.

Thanks for the heads up Krelinus, I have PM him now.

I was also curious as to what other veteran dakkanaughts thought

Please let us know how that goes...

I enjoy old tacticas revamped for new metas.

I employ the Water Warrior Tactics to my Grey Knights to this day.

Thanks for the kind words guys!

Alas, I haven't played much 40k since 6th edition dropped, meaning my knowledge is about two years out of date.

I could at least give the book a superficial facelift for 6th, accounting for the changes to the units themselves (valks to fliers, LRBTS to heavies, etc) but I don't see the point with a new codex coming down the pike in a few months.

@OP: If you are still looking for an IG tactica, check out the link in the second line of my sig. I'm not at all trying to upstage Polonius at all (in fact, he largely inspired the project with his amazingly comprehensive article) but my article was written for 6th and regularly updated, so you might find it helpful. It is done in much the same style as Polonius's one, covering everything unit-by-unit, if that's what you're looking for. I will of course update it with the new codex when that's out.

@Polonius: If/when you do update the article, feel free to include any ideas from my own as a short-cut to get you up-to-speed on 6th.

I will read your articles when I get a chance. Due to my complete disconnect with 40k, I'm more likley to offer notes on style or focus rather than argue your points.

But if I like what I see, and you make it a Dakka article, I'll give it my seal of approval and link to it in my piece.

Thanks, I hope you find it interesting. I've been meaning to make it an article on here for a while, but haven't had time to do formatting ect. yet. I might well wait until the new codex so I don't have to edit everything twice.
