so, ive been playing 40k for years, but havent been able to play much recently (last time i played, the (6th ed) csm codex was BRAND new)
I'm going in to play some games, and with a list that looks like this-
hq-
MoTF
Bike, Beamer, Shield Eternal

Hestan
Troops-
10 man tact-140
Plas Cannon, Flame, Dp
10 scouts, snipers, camo

Elites-
6 man Centurion squad- hurricane bolters tl melta guns
2x veni plascan dreds in a DP

Heavy support
4 man Centurion Devastators (huricane bolters, gravcannons-
Veni, plascan dreds in Drop pod
Whirlwind

Be any good? how can i improve? some ideas for tactics?

templets cant snap fire so you cant do anything with tac cannon.

you have hestan and a single flamer. why take salamanders??

I have to agree with Mali. You seem to be missing some flamers/meltas.

Also you seem a bit shy on troops. Two squads (four if combat squads) are going to get eaten quickly and then you're going to have to fight tooth and nail to pull off a win or even a draw.

The list isn't really a Salamanders list, if Vulkan wasn't in the list I could say it's something you'd see Iron Hands run with the Dreads.

In general, Assault Cents are not really that good. Your opponent is just going to kite them around the board.

Plasma Cannons are probably the worst heavy you can take in a DP squad, since they cannot fire the turn you land.

The Salamanders thing is personal- i like the fluff and things, and my entire army is painted salamanders....
I could give the Dreds Heavy Flamer/powerfist, and an Autocannons?

I did a Salamanders tactica article. The bulk of it (like most army tactica) focuses on unit selection, but the latter portion deals with tricks and tips, from which Drop Pod lists reap the lion's share of the benefits.
