Its listed as foundation, but I couldnt find it on my checklist of citadel paints. I'm guessing its just a base, right?

That colour is an older one, which has since been replaced by the base paints.

One of my favorite foundation colors. I'm glad I stocked up before they replaced the line.

It's a light warm beige/brown. For most purposes I find panzer aces (a vallejo range) light mud a pretty good stand in, if a little more toward the yellow side.

Foundation paints were discontinued about two years ago with the complete new Citadel paint range. Official successor is Rakarth Flesh, a Base paint. Base paints cover well due to lots of pigments, but are superior to Foundation paints as they have normal thickness and don't dry that fast.

'Superior' is subjective – the GW Base and Foundation ranges both have their strengths. I really liked the slightly more pastel and less vibrant hues, and found the consistency much more versatile. It's easier to thin a paint with water or acrylic medium than it is to thicken it, for example.

The new range has few good chromatic darks like Charadon Granite. There are no proper matches in the new GW range for muted colours like Dheneb Stone and Mordian Blue, unfortunately.
