G'day all,

I'm putting a new colour scheme on my Space Wolves and I'm trying to find a colour that looks how I want. Can be from any manufacturer as long as I can get it in Australia

I'm basically looking for a blue-purple-grey, but not nearly as blue as The Fang and slightly darker. Maybe a hair darker than Mechanicus Standard Grey. Imagine Mechanicus Standard grey after a black wash but with a slightly blue/purple tinge to it (The Fang is slightly purple as well, so along a similar line to the Fang, just more grey and more dark). Lighter than Eshin Grey though.

Anyone know of such a colour? I thought maybe RLM 75, but it probably needs to be slightly more blue/purple and slightly darker than that.

I can mix the colour myself, basically take big pool of Mechanicus Standard Grey (or any mid neutral grey), a couple of drops of blue and a either a drop of red or a few drops of purple and a couple of drops of black. The problem with mixing it myself, I want this to be the scheme across my entire Space Wolves army AND also use it alongside a light grey on my Imperial Guard tanks, and while I can mix basically what I want, there's no way I can repeat it with the desired accuracy.

Well, I think I found the colour I'll use. Reaper's "grey blue" triad, midnight blue, twilight blue and snow shadow.

Twilight blue is pretty much the correct brightness, it's like a darker and less blue shadow grey, and midnight blue (which, FYI, is not like GW's midnight blue) will make a good shade for it. The snow shadow is probably too bright to use as a highlight, maybe just on the upper most edges.

It would have been nice to find something more purple, but it seems people don't like the violet greys, it's very rare to find a good violet grey, the only ones are the RLM75 paints (a german WW2 aircraft colour) or GW's warpfiend grey, but that's a bit too bright for what I want.

Somewhere in south-central England.

Payne's Grey could be worth trying.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

Cheers for the tip, I looked up the RGB values of Payne's Grey and it's pretty much bang on Reaper's Twilight Grey.
