Howdy there. I'm a relatively new player to the game, and I have a growing Menoth army. So far for Menoth I have:
-Harbinger
-eFeora
-pSevy
-pVindy
-pKreoss

-Paladin of the Order of the Wall x2
-High Paladin Darta Vilmon
-Vassal Mechanik
-Vassal of Menoth

-Exemplar Errants (Full unit of 10) and the UA
-Choir of Menoth
- Exemplar Cinerators (Full unit of 5)

-Revenger x2
-Repenter x2
-Redeemer x1
-Vanquisher x1
-Crusader x2

A total of 77 points. And I'm really enjoying the game so far, though I do still need more practice before I could be considered competent. While I do not doubt I will continue to play, I'm curious as to what others think about the idea of starting a second army at this point. Specifically, I wanted to do Legion of Everblight, to have both the Warmachine and the Hordes part of Warmahordes. Would you guys advice against branching out at this point, and instead focusing on growing my Menoth list? The gaming budget is such that I can only buy for one of them at a time, if I do decide to do a Legion of Everblight army. If my list isn't large enough yet, when/at what point value would you guys say is better to start branching out at? Are there specific models for Menoth that are a must have before I build a Legion (IE, Avatar, Thyra, Covenant, etc.)? For anyone who has multiple armies, at what point did you start branching out? Any thoughts would be much appreciated

I found that branching out early allowed me to demo games and get more people interested.

I really don't know anyone who ran only one army for anything more than 6 months before they at least dabbled in a second.

I would play your army until you feel comfortable with the rules, then PLAY a different army. You can start collecting your next army whenever you like though

No wargames these days, more DM/Painting.

I paint things occasionally. Some things you may even like!

Of course not. Just remember to go slow, many people have faction ADD, I myself went through 6 $600+ armies before settling on Skorne. Thank Marrow & Thamar for Bartertown and the trading forum so I could get a good feel for those armies before settling on the best army.

It is never to early to start a second faction. It gives you another army to get your friends to play. It also lets you become more familiar with the other factions which a large part of this game is about.

And battleboxes are so cheap, especially if you can find them at a discount.
