I recently went to a tournament with everything available(Escalation, Stronghold, Forgeworld, Dataslates) and some how managed to come 5th out of 30 people.

I used the first army and found the pressure elements of the list just about managed to hold the attention long enough for me to claim the objectives.

I was thinking for my next tournament(Which doesn't let you use everything available) I could maybe shave down the back field troops/synapse and go for more pressure but what do you think is the right level?

Bare in mind hard cover is rare around here.

What are your thoughts?

I would go with list 3, but instead of swapping a Zoan out for a Crone I would swap it out for a Harpy with a Barbed Strangler, if there is little hard cover available then this dude is very effective at dislodging the kind of back field units you don't want to bother wasting a Mawlock on such as a 10 man Guardian or Cultist unit. The Strength 6 AP 5 pinning plate of doom will also help with Anti horde you seem to be lacking, with all of your pressure elements being FMC or MC's you really don't want to get stuck in a Tarpit of worthless, cheap warriors. The Spore mines are also very good. Apart from that I would maybe suggest finding points for a Lictor to guide your Mawlocks down but that is a matter of preference.

I like numba 2 as I read one my thought was "Trim some gaunts, and buy some goodies" #2 does that
