Subject: Question for Death Korp army.

Hey guys, typical newbie question here.
So I'm starting a DKOK army and i was thinking that maybe i could use the models as a substitute for regular models.
Such as the Death Korp command squad having the same rules and stats as the normal IG one.
And grenadiers basically substituting a Karkin sqaud.
So basically using the IG codex for the DKOK.
Help?.

It's perfectly possible to use DKOK models for a Codex: IG army, but if it's the cost of an IA book that's putting you off, then there's a free download of the Siege Assault Regiment list here:

In fact this is considered the standard way to run DKoK models as most tournaments do not allow FW army lists. So go for it.
There are some rumors that DKoK will get some love from GW with supplements. We can hope.
Welcome to the Korps BTW.

That's fine, nobody will mind you using DKoK mini's like that. It's unfortunate but most events don't allow FW lists so if you were to take the army to a tournament that's how they'd have to be used.

The correct pronunciation is Imperial Guard and Stormtroopers, "Astra Militarum" and "Tempestus Scions" are something you'll find at Hogwarts. |

Unless you want to run a FW army list, you might do best to wait until the new Guard codex probably comes out this March, get that and see what units you will want to take before buying models. You could save yourself a heap of cash. (But if you're not into tournament play and your gaming group is cool with FW lists, I totally recommend the free Siege Regiment army list on the FW downloads section, it feels so much more Kriegy than just the guard list with prettier models)

Exactly what I do. No issues here at all. You may have to do some creative work to distinguish Sergeants as I have discovered, otherwise it's easy as pie.
