When you are removing casualties from a close combat battle, and you only have the front row of models left, can you remove the casualties in whatever way you want (possibly taking attacks away from the enemy, or taking an enemy out of close combat completely)?
As an example, how do you remove casualties on these examples assuming there is an enemy model in B2B to all of the models, and all wounds are directed towards rank and file (I=Infantry, C=Champion, M=musician, S=Standard bearer, H=Hero, L=Lord)

A) I1-I2-I3-I4-C (When removing casualties, can you remove I1, then I2, etc. If so, do the rest of the models stay in place, or will they move to keep the unit centered?)
B) C-I-S-M-H (When removing casualties, I needs to be the casualty removed, but how does the rest of the unit consolidate?)
C) L-M-C-S-H (Similar Scenario, so probably the same answer as B)

You remove equally from either end, unless that removes a command model while rnf models remain. Once down to rnf you follow the set order for removal.

Take the Magic: The Gathering 'What Color Are You?' Quiz.

Yes my Colour is Black but not for the reasons stated mainly just because it's slimming... http://imperiusdominatus.blogspot.com
