Just finished, took the opportunity to try out some new techniques and materials, including some of the new Citadel Technicals, which seem pretty good all in all!

Why thank you!

I had to light it fairly strongly for a lot of that to show up in the pics, which has bleached out some of the more subtle stuff I've tried to do, but the spine work is a combination of BFTBG and the usual method using UHU glue and Tamiya clear red.

I spent some time researching photos of wounds and diseases online for this guy to try and make it look, if not realistic (giant disease demon and all that) at least plausible.

It might be the harsh lighting, but the eyes lack draw and the pustules are a bit too white/not yellow enough. The intestines are a bit too pink to be realistic, but as you say, giant plague demon etc. The blood/gore effects are stunning, the exposed backbone reminds me of orthopaedic theatres...

Thanks for the feedback.

The eyes are difficult, I'm sort of painted into a corner (no pun intended) as my Nurgle daemons all share yellow eyes. This isn't normally a problem, but the eyes on this model are already so small (not proportionately, the winking/squinting eye is barely larger than some infantry size models!) that it was difficult to get a strong contrast (yellow not really contrasting with green that well) That said, the pictures are taken from a low angle, because he is hunched over it is difficult to really see the eyes from normal viewing angles. It is on my list of things I may revisit, perhaps to highlight the surrounding area more, rather than the eyeball itself, I will see how I feel with some time and distance from it.

I agree with the intestines, I suffer from what is currently classed as moderate-severe Crohn's, so I've spent many occasions staring at my own guts in an endoscopy suite! However, I didn't want anything to look too healthy, and my reference for that was watching the post mortem of a week dead cow when I was on my work experience, there was more grey in the real thing, but it was the livid pink/purple shade I can still recall, and that's what I used, although the subsequent "weathering" with the gore effects has knocked it down a shade or two.

The spots are again, on the "may revisit" list, they have undoubtedly had some of the yellow washed out in the pics, but I'm not sure if I might perhaps do a thin yellow glaze over them in the future. Again, I've been working in this in and off for over a month, so will let time and distance dictate if I alter them.

Holy crystal space Jesus, this thing is disgusting. How do you manage to make it look so organic? Like, I'm convinced you went out, found a nurgle demon (Or what ever that thing is), shrunk it down and glued it to a base.
