I haven't played in years and I am in the process of obtaining a sizable Chaos Dwarf army. Beyond what I am getting and what I have to buy, I am not concerned about the price. I realize the expense of running such an army. Beyond that I could use some solid, assistance in working on what I have and what I would like to run. The goal is 2500 points, eventually 3,000 but that will contain whimsical stuff. Here is what I am wanting to run so far:

Sorcerer-Prophet w/ Level 4, Amulet of Preservation = 345

Infernal Castellan w/ Battle Standard Bearer, Razor Standard = 165
Daemonsmith w/ Dispel Scroll, Level 2 = 155

Infernal Guard (30) w/ Full Command = 390
Infernal Guard (30) w/ Full Command, Great Weapon = 480
Infernal Guard (10) w/ Fireglaive = 170
Infernal Guard (10) w/ Fireglaive = 170

Thanks for the assistance.

Guess it helps to add: What would be good to add to fill gaps in my army? I was eyeballing the Bull Centaurs, Magma Cannon and Hellcannon.

Fireglaives are terrible, the range is too short to do anything. Magma cannons, rockets and hell cannons are all really good. Bull centaurs can be good if kept cheap and run like fast cav

Here's what you should take on your Sorcerer: Chalice of Blood and Darkness (you can do the -d3 at any point in the magic phase even after you've cast a spell but before your opponent has a chance to dispell), Enchanted Shield, Talisman of Preservation.

That way he gets a 2+ armour, 4++ ward and the most overpowered item in the book.

Fireglaives really aren't worth it. I've tried them they are 17 points of fail.

Deathshreikers. Hellcannons and the other war machines are good. The Tau'ruk is amazing. The K'Daai Destroyer can win you games on its own. It can beat 1000 points combat units on its own, is practically immune to cannons and is movement 9.

Take the Magic: The Gathering 'What Color Are You?' Quiz.

Yes my Colour is Black but not for the reasons stated mainly just because it's slimming... http://imperiusdominatus.blogspot.com

Don't use fireglaives. They are way too expensive. I am not even sure you want to use GW on them. But run the numbers. If you're going to run CD, I would say don't use too many of the dwarfs. The new normal Dwarfs (I think) makes them a bit obsolete by comparison. So you want to sink as few points into them as you can and concentrate on the unique CD stuff.

Chaos Dwarfs were created at the end of 7th and their upgrades are very very expensive.

Magma cannons are one of the best war machines in the game. Well, one of the better ones.

The huge mortar can be good, but it's very expensive and has a min range. If you get one, take a slave ogre.

Kdaii Destroyers are fantastic monsters, but no model exists for one. Also, with 8th edition power creep, monsters are better at late editions. Like Chimera and Hydras. The Destroyer is still crazy good, but it's really expensive.

Hobgoblin wolf raiders are your fast movers.

Bull Centaurs are pretty good. They are basically super defensive ogres with less offense. You can get their armor down to 2+ with a 6+ parry and T5 for 45 pts. You can run the math to compare them to Ogres and such, maybe giving them AHW is worth it. It would bring them up to 3 attacks at 50pts each though.
