So...here goes...

Panzerkompanie HQ 2 PnzIV H

Panzer platoon - 3 PnzIV H

Panzer Platoon - 3 PnzIV H

Heavy panzer platoon - 2 Konigstigers (Henschel)

Assault gun platoon - 3 StugG

First list I've ever come up with, never even played a full true game, only ever glazed over the rules with a friend. Most of what I chose is based on what I have, and what I like the look of.

I haven't played Flames in a bit, so take this with a grain of salt. First, any armoured list needs recon to keep ambushes a reasonable distance away from them. When gun teams teleport behind you or to the side, they will have an easy go of knocking out your tanks.

The next thing is smoke, though many people don't consider this necessary. Smoke is a nice thing to have for an armoured company because gun teams are very efficient tank killers that can't move far enough in a turn to get out of a smoke bombardment; this can be huge if the opponent is relying on gun teams to dictate your movement.

Finally, platoon sizes. I personally always go for even numbers to stave off the morale test as long as possible ESPECIALLY if the motivation rating is Confident. You don't want to risk any more tanks than you have to on a 4+ roll, so I'd maybe drop the StuGs to fill out your Panzer platoons.

Your basic problem is assaulting dug in veteran infantry.

Assuming your assaulting a US platoon with 2-4 bazookas.

The biggest assault platoon you have is 5 PZ4 (a platoon with IC and 2IC attached.) you have no smoke for cover, and have to rely on MG's to pin them. (And as they are dug in vets that's hitting on 6's as you have no recon to lift GtG) so you need about 30 MG shots - or basically al your PZ4's shooting all their MG's.

Even if you do this about a 3rd of the bazookas shots will hit in defensive fire so even with shurzen you're likely to have only 4 tanks assaulting. Probably killing 3 infantry stands, a clever player will then be hitting you with the zooksin close combat which will destroy 2-3 tanks. Even if the infantry then break off after your next assault you're in a really precarious position in their next turn!

I would definitely look to invest in some artillery, and recon

The list is very one dimensional... very good for a couple of learning games, but then you'll need to diversify.

If you can get your hands on the German half of OPEN FIRE!, it is a pretty good start. I like tanks (who doesn't) but well-used infantry are the stars of the game. You'll still need some Recce and some Smoke (8-Rads and Nebelwerfers are my suggestion since they were used almost the entire war). Personally, I like StuG's over Panzer IV's but that is more to taste than anything.

I have two full sets of open fire, I just couldn't find anything on easy army that would allow me to use parts from them, AND my single konigstiger that I own :/
