A friend of mine is starting to gather up eldar models and he wants a footdar harlequine list to start with, so i thought you guys might help out with it
The points goal is 1k, and the "rules" are atleast one squad of harlequines and no vehicles, while keeping the list playable against casual and semi-competetive players and lists
Any sugestions or even complete lists would be great. Thanks in advance

I'm just saying, harlequines aren't that good. If he wants no tanks, will he take walkers? Warwalkers with scatterlasers/Bright lances are quite good.

Ummm no. War walkers take double scatter or double lance. Otherwise its just mixed roles and halves the efficiency.

Its more of a themed casual army, so it doesnt need to be super competetive, it just needs to be playable
I was thinking something along the lines of 2 squad of Dire Avengers and a squad of Rangers, a Farseer, and a couple of decked out Harlequin squads, but an army like that has no punch vs any armor, so I am open to ideas

Make sure to have a laughingseer/autarch cause that fits the theme perfectly and is very good

He could do with a laughing farseer two decked out harlequin units. 2 wraithlords and a wraithknight then fill out the troops

That sounds good, laughing farseer and harlequins is a good start but what should he fill the troops slot with ? what passes as a good troopchoice on foot with eldar?

If he is willing to relax his restrictions on vehicles, maybe consider eldar with dark eldar allies (using the harlequins from the DE book).

This way they have shrouded instead of rolling spotting distance and without a psychic test, plus they can borrow another units raider and use it as an assault vehicle.

What I meant was either double of each....should have made that clearer.

Honestly, if this list could be better, this is how I would make an Eldar list.

I would go with 2x Dire avengers, a Guardian squad with heavy weapon for the backfield objective, and one, maybe two harlequin squads. Harlys are so expensive to make them worthwhile though, I mean, if they could ride in wave serpents or even in Venoms, I think you would start to see a lot more Harlequin lists out there.

There is a difference between the DE and Eldar Harlequin profiles ?
Anyways I think he wont back down from the NoVehicles policy, and remember, it is supposed to be a casual list that can hold up against mostly casual lists
" 2x Dire avengers, a Guardian squad with heavy weapon for the backfield objective, and one, maybe two harlequin squads"
seems like a good start but what to go for after that ?
